I hate having to point this out, but the change list says Luke’s line of “Blast it, Biggs” has been altered to “Blast it, Wedge.” I just checked, and the recent version has “Biggs” in it.

The Yub Nub version has everything, but for the planet celebration ending it looks like it only uploaded the tiny encode version.

I watched the change you made with headphones on. I love the idea of this dialogue change, but personally it sounds a little jarring to me. The music cuts weird and the voice sounds closer to JEJ than Vader.

I think it’s because you’re listening for it. The “mother” word does sound like it could use a bit more of the Vader-voice filter, but it seems good for what it is.

This is a limitation of ElevenLabs voice cloning, likely because they are trying to emulate human speech perfectly, not characterized speech.
The dialogue I made for Zorri in Ascendant is also identical to the actor’s voice but is missing the voice filter. I have the same issue with my Threepio voice clone not having the robotic sound effect. Fortunately, I was able to figure out how to replicate Threepio’s effect quite easily on Audacity. For Vader and Zorri I’m not even sure where to begin.
Once again, if anybody out there knows how to do those character’s voice sound effects that would be awesome!
I very much leave the door open for these OT projects to improvements from new source material and such. If there comes a good way to apply the voice modulation I’d be thrilled to include it.
Who knows? If rumors hold about the 50th anniversary OOT restoration, I’d be elated to start these three projects over from the beginning!

Hello everyone, after having seen the disney plus 4k star wars versions i decided that i wanted to see another version of the original trilogy and this one really sparked my interest, since the first versions i ever saw where the special editions dvd from blockbuster when i was a kid, and i have a soft spot for some of the special edition changes, while others not so much. this project seems like a great remix of the good changes so i really want to give it a shot, and i also want to use this project to introduce my best friend to the star wars i love, since it keeps the special edition charm while removing the strange bits.
So if anyone can help me get my hands on this versions i would be incredibly thankful.

ANH has been quietly given a very minor update.
I swapped two R2 vocalizations when we meet Ben Kenobi so that a “sad beep” follows the line “I don’t seem to remember every owning a droid.”
Vader’s TIE jumps to hyperspace after the battle (thanks to TMWNN). (Harmless, and ties into my Ascendant project.)
And… this’ll of course be the final update before the juicy new source material hopefully coming next year!

Also, the 50th anniversary custom SEs will likely have a mono mix for ANH and a stereo mix for ESB and ROTJ in addition to 7.1 and prior versions’ 5.1.

Did you also use AI to replicate Obi-Wan’s “I wanted you to have this when you were old enough” and “A Jedi Master who instructed me”? For those things, the description doesn’t say if AI was used or not.

Hey Hal (and anyone with editing experience who would like to chime in!), could you please explain what David Kaylor did with “Star Wars: The Final Cut” to make the film look washed out compared to the Custom Special Edition? The left still is from the 15 GB 4K “Final Cut”, the right still is from the 30 GB 1080p Custom Special Edition:

Also, would you be please articulate some of the main distinctions between his “Final Cut” and your Custom Special Edition (besides Anakin’s force ghost) throughout all three films? I believe both of you use Project4k and oohteedee as sources; David also used your Custom Special Edition as a source for some scenes.

I’m assuming that he used ohteedee’s source as-is, whereas I monkeyed around with some LUTs to alter it.
As far as comparing his version to mine I don’t know what all his changes are so I imagine the best answer you could get is to compare the change logs and see what was done for each project.
