Does Restructured use the shot where Snap asks Leia if they should contact the Republic?

Yes, but the dialogue is different (I changed the mouth movement), and it doesn’t include any other shots from that scene.
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
Episode 9 Rewrite, The Starlight Project (Released!) and ANH Technicolor Project (Released!)
A new TV spot for TROS released tonight shows repurposed footage from a TFA deleted scene included on the BluRay.
Hoping the new movie won’t require rethinking the scene in TFA:R where Leia sends her envoy to the Senate. I don’t imagine talk of the Senate would fit into this movie anyway, so here’s hoping for no damage!
I mean, you took a scene from The Other Boleyn Girl for your edit of Episode III.
The name’s Lawson. Noah Lawson.
To be fair, I imagine the Venn diagram of people who’ve seen The Other Boleyn Girl and Labyrinth of Evil is smaller than the one of people who will see both TFA: Restructured and TROS.
As long as Leia doesn’t mention her mother dying in childbirth…
I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.
Just wanted to reiterate my gratitude to all who contributed to this project, on the eve of Episode IX.
Fun fact: every IFDB review of this edit since the release of V2 has been 9.8 or above.

If you plan on making another version of this edit, have you thought about adding in the Emperor’s laugh over the wide shot of Rey looking at the Knights of Ren? DigModiFicaTion did this for his edit, and it works well to foreshadow Palpatine’s return.

My Skywalker Saga watchthrough crew just finished up this past Saturday. Despite their hesitation, we watched Restructured and Legendary (well, we actually watched Poppasketti’s edit but only because my one friend HATES space Leia). With all of us being in our 20s, I think nostalgia blinded most people from truly enjoying your prequel edits; they appreciated the work the went into them but would have rather watched the originals. HOWEVER, after Restructured, many of them agreed with my one friend who said, “now I have seen what fanedits can truly accomplish and I understand why you enjoy them so much.” Plus, they also got a kick out of my voice work which I only pointed out to them after the scene had played out.
Long story short, TFA:R is kinda incredible, and I wanted to share some love with ya. We’ll see how well it holds up in 4 days!
Thank you for sharing that! It’s good to hear glimpses like that into people watching these.
If anything, I wonder if it might be a better place to add the Emperor’s laugh To Luke looking inside Kylo Ren‘s mind in TLJ.

I agree with this. It is still subtle and could be open to interpretation, but for those people who are iffy on Luke’s actions, it might be enough for them to rationalize it as Sidious clouding his mind and manipulating him.
This is such an incredible edit and enjoy it very much!
Sad for me that my friend hosted a mini marathon of the sequels and did not want the fan edits … only original movies at his home. After watching those, it always helps galvanize my appreciation for edits to help approve on it. Your restructured edit really helps improve upon the plot/actions involving Planet DeathStarTM and the republic … that was just awesome!
I will be curios to see how the final movie goes to see how it affects these edits, I am hoping either minor or not at all.
As per your through Hal about Emperor’s laugh, it would be a neat experiment if you did it in a subtle way … maybe have it combined with a Snoke line/laugh or something. I feel like less obvious/more subtle the better.
“Because you are a PalpaWalker?”
Can’t post a clip right now but I did add the Emperor’s laugh from the TROS teaser to Luke gazing into Kylo’s mind in the rear channels at a very low volume that’s hard to make out unless you know what you’re listening for. Might be a good balance between doing it and not doing it at all.

Hi Hal
I think adding the Palpatine laugh and outright ‘owning it’ is a great idea and in my mind it works on at least two levels:-
The surge of Paranoia caused by seeing a vision of Ben turn and then associating him with becoming as cruel and evil as his former foe.
It’s that which ultimately triggers Luke to ignite his saber, almost as if it’s an instinctive response triggering by PTSD
…by the time he gathers his senses and decides not to give in to his fear, it’s too late.
It’s a more literal indication/foreshadowing that Palpatine was/is still pulling the strings from beyond the grave and able to extort his influence over both the heroes and villains in order to position all of them into doing everything he needs them to do in order to execute his return to power.
In this case, even in ‘death’, Palpatine was able to capitalise on Luke’s fear/weakness and manipulate him into pushing Ben away…which subsequently cemented his turn.
And this brings us back to what he said back in the throne room during ROTJ:-
‘Everything That Has Transpired Has Done So According to My Design’
So in the words of Palpy himself: ‘Do it’ (?) 😃
I’m with you.

This conversation should probably be in the thread to The Last Jedi: Legendary, but adding Palpatine’s laugh in Ben’s mind would also be fitting foreshadowing if any of you have seen the recent TV spot of Ben visiting a Sith temple and hearing the voices of Palpatine, Snoke and Vader. Also, when you start getting ideas for your edit of The Rise of Skywalker, what name would you probably give it?
The name’s Lawson. Noah Lawson.
Hard to say. TFA: Restructured describes the core objective of the project, though sounds kind of boring and was coined before I knew it would end up a trilogy of projects. TLJ: Legendary essentially just borrows from the theme of the movie. So until I see TROS Friday morning, I won’t know what would fit. Or I might not know until I have an inkling of what I’d even want to do with it.
TROS: High Ground

Whenever I get the chance, I will play around with removing the high pitched Minis Morgul-ish sound at the end of the foley as Luke looks into Kylo’s mind, in order to lay down an Emperor laugh that is still subtle while being a bit easier to make out.

Amazing!!

TROS: I AM THE SENATE
Nah too long.
TROS: IT’S TREASON THEN
Dang it … Still too long.
TROS: UNLIMITED POWER!
TROS: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Hey Hal, could you please send me a link.

Hi Hal,

Just watched the original one, and i think this one makes a lot more sense!

This is amazing. Can’t believe how such a simple change turns an already good (albeit too Member Berry-ish) movie into a great one.
Quick question though, do you plan on doing a 4K HDR release of any of your edits after this set is released around March?: https://comicbook.com/starwars/2019/12/26/star-wars-the-skywalker-saga-4k-blu-ray-box-set-limited-edition-best-buy-amazon/
Thanks for saying so.
And no, none of my edits will ever surpass 1080p BluRay spec for a host of reasons.
If anyone would ever like to attempt it, feel free to lay my lossless audio output and a proxy rip of the video streams into an editor and recreate the video in 4K or whatever. But I cannot, due to technical limitations and much of the source material being sourced from 1080p and 480p. The entire saga is being mastered at 1080p with 5.1 DTS and that’s as far as I can take things.
