"Changing classic movies at all is just wrong." Puggo

"HA, Ha, you r ghey" was probably a hilariously insulting comment in Elementary and Middle School, but its not cooly insulting anymore and its certainly not funny: it makes people who say it look like, well, an "inbred monkey." TheSessler

"I'm still %20 the wiser. It amused me that after doing a google image search for "The Final Milf" the second picture is Roger Delgado followed by lots and lots of porn." Bingowings

Like:

  • X-Wing series, XWA & TF are the best
  • KotOR
  • Dark Forces series (Jedi Academy was pretty poor though)
  • Rebel Assault series (nostalgy for me)
  • Battlegrounds
  • Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy
  • Battlefronts are okay
  • Rogue Squadron is okay
  • Republic Commando

Dislike:

  • KotOR II (I don't hate it but it's a big a disappointment, okay to play though)
  • Force Commander
  • All prequel games except Republic Commando, the worst by far is Obi-Wan

And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.

Pretty Much this. :)

Although my favourite would have to be Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast, mainly because the story feels alot more cinema-y than some of the other games. And also it's lots of fun. :D

I've played Super Star Wars, Super Empire Strikes Back, Super Return of the Jedi, Shadows of the Empire, and the podracing one. I feel pretty neutral in regards to all of them.

Oh yeah, I've completely forgotten about those. I've played all of them but couldn't get past the first few levels in any of them.

Fixed.  hater's gonna hate.

Only really played the original arcade game, in the arcade and on the glorious Apple IIe.  But have watch some of the games as speed run recordings.  Like seeing how they twist the settings and contort the characters to fit game play.

How could I forget Super Star Wars! I used to play all the way to the end without dying on the Jedi difficulty level. Wonder if I still can do that? Time to pull out the SuperNES!

I don't play many, but I do enjoy Star Wars: Jedi Power Battles and the Battlefront games. I remember the countless late nights spent playing those...

I remember getting addicted to the PS2 pod racer game that came out around episode II, I think that was the last one I bought after being a loyal star wars- game fan all through the 90s.  Never could finish the last race, what a pisser that one was. (I wonder what kind of rights hassles are involved in reissuing those old games, either in a collection or to download.)

The original Dark Forces for PC and Shadows of the Empire for the N64 are my two all time favorite Star Wars games. More recently Jedi Outcast was pretty decent, most others have been crap. The Empire Strikes Back for the NES was another one I spent hours playing and have a great deal of fondness for. Never cared much for the SNES ones.

Dolt how could I forget playing ESB on the Atari.  Went to friends homes many a day to watch Walkers change colors.

Of course! Forgot that one too. I still have it with my Atari 2600. I wonder if it still works?

Liked:

Shadows of the Empire - N64

Jedi Knight 2 - PC

Phantom Menace - Playstation

Battlefront 1&2 - PS2

Bounty Hunter on PS2 could have been good if the controls didn't suck so bad.

The Force Unleashed had its moments but not really a fan.

My favorites ones are

Dark Forces
Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
Republic Commando
Rebel Assault games (very nostalgic and somehow flying though Beggar's Canyon with an uncalibrated joystick was a pain)
Super Star Wars (probably beaten this game up to 30 times)

Flying through Beggar's Canyon with a calibrated joystick, a mouse, or a keyboard was a pain as well. I swear, there were no good controller option for those games. The shitty controls had to have been an intentionally part of those games' difficulty. I'd never put up with something like that today, but as a young SW hungry lad living in the pre-revival days of the early to mid nineties, I ate them up and loved every frustrating second of it. Kids these days don't realize how lucky they are to have the Rogue Squadron games.

Ouch!! Sorry, I just kicked myself really hard. I completely forgot to mention X-Wing and Tie Fighter among the SW games I really loved over the years. Those deserved mention toward the top of my list just under Dark Forces. Countless hours of great fun destroying enemy frigates and escorting shuttles.

Playing Rebel Assult with a joystick meant you couldn't hit people in the third-person shooting levels. Playing with a mouse made the flight level crazy hard.

I actually never used my joystick, even for TIE Fighter.

Favourites:

 - the original Atari arcade games for SW and Jedi. (ESB was a conversion kit for the original SW, and was pretty rare; I think I only ever saw it once)

 - Sega's Star Wars Trilogy Arcade (emulation discussed in my thread here)

 - Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (great for co-op play with the kids - it's just a shame that R2's flying ability is essential to complete the game...)

Not so keen on:

 - a FPS I played on the PC in the late nineties, think it was Dark Forces. Too many buttons put me off (I like something I can pick up and play out of the box)

 - The Force Unleashed on the Wii (meh.)

 - Another Wii game, some clone wars lightsabre fighting game. Also meh.

Jedi Knight and Mysteries of the Sith. Especially with the Saber Battle X mods (JK | MotS). It's mostly meant for multiplayer, but it's worth it in SP just for the awesome looking Sabers.

Really liked the two Battlefront games, too.

Wanted to like Dark Forces, but it just makes me motion sick, and it's really hard to go back to 320 resolution these days (and I couldn't get any emulators to run the Mac version at full speed). Wanted to like Jedi Outcast, but the AI was terrible =/

Always wanted to try Bounty Hunter, but haven't had the chance yet.

LOL, yeah. Rebel Assault was my first PC game ever and it was ridicilously hard. I was a kid then, now I've completed it on all levels, but it sucked back then. Also the way you needed to play through 3 levels at one time to get the code so you could continue from later levels made it damn hard. For me it took years to play it through. Beggar's Canyon was easy but that A-Wing level... Jeez!

Edit: also the need for calibrating the joystick every time you started the game... don't miss those days.

Next generation SW Kinect game:

http://uk.kotaku.com/5794546/rumor-kinect-star-wars-game-lets-you-pod-race-be-a-rancor-monster-and-fight-with-lightsabers

But there may be more to Kinect Star Wars than just lightsaber fights, according to details from a recent survey on the game forwarded to Kotaku. That survey—which was accompanied with storyboards for a planned commercial—touched on unannounced gameplay aspects, including a Pod Racing sequence that can be controlled by steering an imaginary wheel with one's hands.

More amusing than miming control of a Pod Racer is a game that appears to let players control a Rancor monster, stomping things beneath their feet while performing the same motion in front of a Kinect camera.
