I've got two different versions of that same disc, and one has the mono mix on it. I believe I mentioned it in one of the discussions.

Is this not the version being distributed?

No, it's not. The version being distributed is the "revised" version (apparently). The mono mix was dumped in favor of the isolated score track. I'd love to see the version with the mono mix, though.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

As I recall the only true defect is the missing Leai welding scene.

Can anyone give me specifics as to WHAT that scene is, about how long, and maybe a time-frame in the movie? I'd like to see it for myself to decide how important it is to me (I have the TR47 version as well, just don't want to sit through the whole film to find the scene not knowing what I'm looking for.)...

The scene is at about 50 min and 30 seconds into the movie. It's only about 3 seconds of Leia welding after Han tells Chewie, "I think we'd better replace the negative power coupling." If you have the TR47 version with no title menu screen, the scene comes right after a 3 second portion of blank screen. If the version you have has a title menu screen that says, "The Original Theatrical Version," there is no 3 seconds of blank screen.

Yes I thought I remembered someone saying they had the mono mix, and I assumed it was better than the version I had. I expect this was probably sampled off the pre-ANH bootleg instead of the UK TV broadcast. What's the quality like?

Doc-M, the Leia-Welding scene happens at a side-change. In the original release DE NTSC LaserDiscs the scene was trunctuated. The disc was corrected and re-issued. DrGonzo (and he can correct me if I'm wrong here) apparently wanted to prove he was using the original DE LD's and so the short clip is missing. On TR-47's release the scene is intact, however there is a 3-second pause before it begins. This error is due to the side-change not being edited in seamless. I don't have the Farsight Trilogy, but I believe it has the entire scene intact.

ESB is missing the Leia welding footage, so it was probably sourced from an early pressing of the '93 LD.

I do have the Farsight Trilogy, and it's still missing the Leia welding footage.

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

I've mentioned it in its own thread, and on the Torrents thread, but it possibly bears mentioning here too - the first version (1.0 only) of my XP77 (Experience '77) edit is up.

The nature of this edit - and I'll do a little more work with it for the next (XP77:5EB.0) version - is that it builds on a previous edit, the Mysterious Mysteries edit, by using a patched version of an audio track reflecting the 1977 1.0 mono mix.

The final version will have the subtitles remuxed in (they are missing from the 4EB.1 version) and also contain the 1977 2.0 stereo mix.

I do not have any better video sources at this time but would like to redo it as an Anamorphic version, with better picture quality.

Moll.

Do you have first generation copies of the mono and stereo mixes? If so what are they (WAV,DD,etc)?

Where on Earth did you get that reasoning?

I don't know what generation my 1.0 is. (Came as an mp3 and I patched it up.)

I haven't gotten the 2.0 yet, but I think it's directly ripped from a laserdisc.

The DVDs I make use FFMPEG's variety of AC3 encoding.

The VHS source I sampled was the first generation recording from a TV broadcast.

It is the set reviewed at this site.

It is a regular on ebay as well as speciaist dealers of Far Eastern import DVD's. Approx $33 plus postage will get you a set.

PM for a web address if interested as it is probably improper to post the details here.

Don't bother I had a set for about a week and sold it, the video quality of ROTJ is a joke.

Anywhere I can find more info on this? Is it simply the audio tracks from the LD or certain audio parts replaced to make a more 'true' representation?

Also, if we know who did this, they may be interested in the new John Williams Star Wars Score set coming out right before ROTS release.

Yeah. Myself and a few others reviewed this one quite a while ago. I spoke with Kristhemovieman and he said that he setup a great master and the people who actually manufactured the pressed discs screwed it up. Too bad. Pretty good presentation, but the video is soft and has some interlacing problems.

Attack of the Clones: The Original Theatrical Film
- 1 DVD - HK “Pressed” Silver DVD
- Source - ‘Telesync/Cam version' A.K.A. 'The Theatrical Version'

I've had this for some time now but it was lost - I was sorting out some old Spawn Figures that I hope to sell when I found an old DVD case with about 10 of my missing DVD's in it from my move 2 years ago!

It's a poor telesync not as good as the Episode I LD trasnsfer but it's the original without the added footage for the DVD

The Quality Broth DVDs are transfers from the 1995 NTSC Faces LD set. The DVDs are letterboxed, 29.97 fps interlaced video with stereo audio in mpeg format (that is a violation of the DVD specicfication AFAIK, although the discs play fine on my standalone). This discs have simple motion menus and chapter selection. Video quality is OK, but the sound quality is lower as on most of the other transfers.
