Or you can do what M suggested and re-encode your main movie with a little bit lowered bitrate and include everything, just re-encode it and make it right, the way you intended,so what if it takes more time,at least it will be what you intended.

LOL DVDShrink?,I can't believe what I am reading,DVDShrink.

at least you could have recommended DVDRebuilder Pro using CCE SP and let the program re-encode everything else but the main movie to squeeze it down.

The differences would be:

No opening logos to the DVD

That Opening Video I showed a few weeks ago is cut

The Scene Selections Intro Video is cut

Scene Selection Thumbnails are Still Images

Moth3r is right: just re-encode your edit.  Cutting out elements you have worked hard to create just to make your file fit on a DVD-9 is just crazy.  DVD Rebuilder is definitely better than DVD Shrink, but I don't understand why you can't just render your project again.

He shouldn't have to render again,just re-encode.

How do you re-encode the movie without having to re-render the whole thing? And what's DVDShrink and DVDRebuilder? Sorry, I'm new to this whole DVD making stuff.

Just a side note, I just sold the initial computer I used for this edit! That's the computer I learned to edit and create graphics with. I loved that thing!

Render, encode - both mean the same thing.

I can't re-render it as I don't have that computer anymore (as of two hours ago). The disc space is currently at 8.7Gb for the full Disc One. I'm over by 2% (although I should probably cut that down an extra 2% just in case)

I have a potential proposal, I could remove the ANH/AOTC credits and just keep the ones I made, and then add the rest of the credits to Disc 2. Does DVD Architect allow me to cut out a chunk and fade it? If that's possible then I think we have a reasonable solution because I don't want to lose video quality after working out so many bugs and after re-rendering so many times to get the best quality I possibly could.

wow, thanks for being such an ass dj. Didn't you read he said that NOTHING else would fit on the DVD apart from the movie as it was oversized and it seemed like he didn't want to have to spend the time  re-encoding the movie again. Using DVDRebuilder with CCE to just shrink the extras would be a waste of time as you can't shrink the extra content down to practically zero. Might as well just re-encode the movie at a smaller bitrate, like Moth3r suggested, as it would take the same amount of time as DVDRebuilder. I only suggested DVDShrink because of the speed element and at 2% oversized there would be no visible quality difference using DVDShrink

A-man, is it DVD Architect that is reporting the project size as 8.7 GB? If it is then just try outputting the whole DVD then check the size after it's done because it's file size reporting isn't too accurate

Yeah it's DVD Architect that reports that. I'll try rendering the file and then checking the size, if that doesn't work I'll go with DVDShrink. How does that work anyways?

The computer with the initial project files is reformatted and gone. I'm gonna try the DVD Shrink method.

You didn't make a backup or copy the data over to your new machine?

All I have is the rendered MPEG and the AC3 files. I'm going to try DVD Shrink before I convert the file to a smaller size.

You should contact the person who bought the computer from you right away.  Tell them you'll replace the HD with a new one.  Make sure they don't modify any of the data...

Thank you both! Anyone know where Ripplin is by the way?

Haven't gone anywhere. I tend to rely heavily on e-mail notifications and I stopped getting them for this thread, I've realized. I missed a lot.

Edit: I just got a notification for none's reply. What in the world is going on?! So frustrating! :(

Well I had finished everything, including the DVD and it looked like I exceeded the DVD-9 limit by 2%, and so we were all panicking about losing quality vs. losing Menu Intros and Animated Intros but as Ady suspected, DVD Architect estimated incorrectly and we're good to go!

Ok guys, in terms of distribution torrents will be up soon and please note that I will not be distributing these in hard copies due to the fact that I can't afford it and dealing with people paying me for the supplies and having to prove I'm not actually making profit is too much for me to handle, so you'll have to wait for the torrents. There are a few people I will be four individuals I would like to send hard copies out to.
