However, fan edits with new ideas will always have a built-in audience. Why not try that?

 Has there ever been any legitimate restoration project around here where the person working on it provided nothing but a single sentence announcement with essentially no information in it? This guy did it twice. If he is a capable film editor--especially one with rare, coveted resources--then he's doing an incredible job of defying the stereotype set by the likes of Harmy, Puggo, poita, and pretty much everyone else here who has made serious efforts to fix the flaws George Lucas introduced to Star Wars.

You are certainly entitled to your own opinion but I wouldn't be so quick to poo-poo the restoration base just yet.  Each restoration project has it's own opportunity based on what those working on them want and what those looking to see them want.  The prequels and the SE are still open regardless how anyone feels about them.  There is still room for one to make contributions.

Puggo's 16mm ANH and ESB are on MySpleen.

Follow your dreams, DarthKenobi. Please do your restoration. And then someday link me to your latest fan edit.

I'm sorry if it came off different.y, but I meant that with sincerity. This seems like a worthwhile project, and I look forward to where he's going with it. I apologize if it came off differently.

I appreciate you understanding my point and not judging me poorly for saying how I read it.  This seems to be a luxury around here lately.  I too look forward to seeing how this might turn out.  I want to see people succeed at their own challenges.  It makes for exciting things.

I'm sorry if this comes as a surprise to you but not everyone see's you as you see yourself Frink.  Most of your time seems to be spent antagonizing & provoking people with your "intelligence" and "humor".  It becomes old after awhile.
