Jonathan Rhys Meyers? I can see that.

^HELL YES!!!!!!!!!!!!
This photo has got me more excited about Ep.VII,than anything else.
That photo is almost 10 years old now, much has happened since.
And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.
Just wanted to reiterate this now that Jonathan Rhys Meyers' name is floating around.thecolorsblend said:
You don't need to (and shouldn't) assign an episode number to the adventures of some CW pretty boy pretending to be a Jedi. If that's Disney's game plan, they can do idiotic crap like that in one of the standalone movies.
All I really want is each film as it was originally seen and heard in theaters; no fixes, corrections, "improvements" or modifications necessary.

Originally I was hesitant to embrace Abrams as a director for new Star Wars, but my surprising enjoyment of his first Trek installment gave me hope. After seeing Star Trek Into Darkness last Wednesday I'm extremely worried/anxious about Star Wars VII. At this point I don't feel like it can or will be good.
Of course I'll have tickets the second they're made available and will take off work to see the first showing - because I'm a sucker for Star Wars and Disney knows no matter what they do they'll rake in my money.
Nobody has thoughts on Jonathan Rhys Meyers? News is heating up:

I find it hard to understand people's undue pessimism when it comes to Abrams being VII's director. He has already stated that Star Wars is a massive deal for him as he's a serious fan. Disney have A LOT riding on this one film alone being a massive success, because it will be the springboard for the rest of the trilogy and any future spin offs. The people who are working behind the scenes are far more pivotal than Abrams himself. And it appears Disney have assembled a pretty spot on team. And I don't think you can gauge the Star Trek films as a conclusive barometer for his talents as a director. Have faith.
He looks like Prince.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers not Colonel JJ Abrams.

Kinda why alot of blockbusters suck. The studios know we'll all go and see them anyway. Even if early reviews said the new trilogy made the holiday special look like ESB we'd all still queue for tickets.
If every SW fan in the world signed a solem promise and posted it to Disney to not go see episodes VIII and IX, or ever again buy another piece of SW merch if episode VII sucked. Then you'd be guarenteed that episode VII would be a masterpiece lol

Please say "I will" instead of "We will". The group your talking about isn't one I'd like to be included in...
;)
There is little chance I'll find myself in queue for Star Wars 7.

I haven't seen him in anything, so he's a complete unknown to me.
Where were you in '77?
Check out Match Point, probably his best film.

Help get The Original Trilogy preserved!
He was in mission impossible 3 so i guess it makes sense. Plus girls really love him and they're always dying to get more girls to get into Star Wars.

Has anybody been able to explain why PT Chewie looks odd to all of us?
Yes it's another newly made costume. But I can never pinpoint what it is about the new costume that looks wrong.
It's the mouth. They've jammed it with all kinds of animatronics making it bulkier and....odd. Well that and the new crew at ILM can't help tweaking his features to look more animalistic. Look at those ape hands, I'll take the black gloves of the OT any day.

I liked him in Under the Cherry Moon.
Saw him in From Paris with Love and he was absolutely dreadful, hope this isn't true.
Did you somehow miss me shit-talking him?georgec said:

No, but I was curious to see what others thought, too. :)

If you look at some of those behind the scenes photos linked to in the general thoughts thread, Mayhew often just had his fingers painted.

Chewie looked so fluffy in ROTJ, I thought he had switched to a new shampoo! ;)

Freaking Latino Review will print/post anything to get attention. Wouldn't trust them as a reliable source.
Forget lens flares after seeing STID I'm anticipating a Star Wars film filed with Dutch angles.
