She looks older.

There is a lot of nerd sexism.

She doesn't look like an older Leia.

Being realistic isn't sexism.

There is a healthy strain of modern action and fantasy films and television with mature women I can't see how Carrie now :

doesn't fit alongside :

Yeah she's going to have zero attention when they push her in-front of the camera on a multi-million dollar movie.

I can still see her as Sith Empress Leia, lured by the dark side, screeching maniacally as she force-lightnings everyone in sight.  Darker than the Emperor.  Episode VIII can then set up her redemption.

But if Ford is to throw on Han Solo's black vest back for another go as the galactic smuggler, where does this put his relationship with George Lucas? In the past, Ford had publically mocked Lucas' ability to write convincing dialogue, but the actor now insists that those words should stay in the past.

"I might have said things in the past that were characterizations of how I felt at the time," he said. "That was then. This is now. It doesn't matter."

“Grow up. These are my Disney's movies, not yours.”

She's a human being and sometimes her appearance isn't her top priority.

When she is in a multi-million dollar movie she will look like the character she is playing.

She has tons of make-up on all pictures posted on this page... sadly make-up can't fix the neck fat.

I think her new line will be "Help me CGI, you are my only hope".

You win. A+!

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, demonstrates that one is a good human being more than using a forum on the WWW to insult a celebrity actress without her knowing.

Your post is exemplary. Keep it up!

You do realise that everyone in even lower budget films, including the men wear makeup?

Sometimes lots of it.

Carrie isn't a full time career actress, because of the sexism in Hollywood hardly any actresses her age are.

She has to take medication and that effects here weight in the real world.

Infront of the camera there will be teams of people making sure every actor looks like their character.

Did you notice how fluffed up Ewan was in ROTS?

They had about three people just to get his hair looking right.

We all try to look our best when a photo is taken. (In theory.) Unfortunately for actors and other famous people, paparazzi are literally under every rock. Pictures are taken every day of the week, every moment out in public, healthy or sick, bad hair day, happy or sad.  And plenty of sleazy tabloids and website to buy those pictures.

Think of the worst day you've had lately, and imagine someone has pictures of you from it, and is passing them around.

That and daytime television interviews with harsh over-lighting and evil little gits pausing the footage at the point where the former beauty has the most chins.

Just how was I insulting anyone? Point one thing in any of my posts in this thread that is an insult.

I did not even say she looks bad. All I said was that (in my opinion) she doesn't look much like an older Leia from OT.

Of course she doesn't Leia in ROTJ was 33.

I don't look like me when I was 33, for one thing I'm played by a totally different actor.

There’s not enough makeup in the world to make Fisher look human anymore.

I don’t understand why she would want to be in this film.

That is not someone who belongs on the big screen.

Ford should vanish as well.

All that is needed is Hamill’s version of Obi-Wan (Old Luke).

The word that all three seem to be coming back reeks of desperation.

That first line can certainly be construed as an insult.

Are you telling me that "sadly make-up can't fix the neck fat" wasn't intended to be insulting? Are you saying that you were simply stating an observation sans emotions?

It's still insulting to call someone fat even if said person is fat and acknowledges that he/she is fat, publicly. It's unfortunate, but the fact that "fat" is an insult is widely-known in America.

I must've hit a nerve. It's funny that you chose to reply to my reply even though you had several others to choose from.

No it certainly wasn't intended to be insulting. The statement wasn't directed to anyone specifically and it applies in general. I did NOT call anyone fat. I did not use an adjective at all.

You did not hit any nerve. You made the first reply so it is a common sense you get my attention first. On top of that, you made ridiculous accusations so I had to set you straight.
