That seems pretty convoluted, and personally there was never a question about what color Anakin's saber would be. It's the saber that went to Luke, therefore it is blue. Introducing a red saber through fan editing adds a host of questions that need rationalizations, as you demonstrated.

I could live with thinking 'ol Ben must have changed the 'crystal' somewhere along the line after ROTS, for the impact the change makes - there's a lot that needs rationalized about the prequels as it is, and let's face it, he didn't seem to have much else to do stuck out in that old hut on Tattooine...except maybe sun himself, or hang out in the cantina a little too often. ;)

On the other hand, if George had just let Obi-wan hang onto that GREEN saber of Qui-gon's that he used to kill Maul with...then we could have had a contrast of colours in the duel with Anakin after all! :)

I didn't really remove Dooku's Sith alter ego, just removed the name Darth Tyrannus because throwing a second name for him into the mix only obscured him even more. We didn't get much of him to begin with. Even if the scene with him and Sidious is removed from the end of Ep2, there's still enough in Ep3 to cement him into that role.

Anyway, I did not know that Clone Wars had a yellow lightsaber; that's pretty cool. It's not me doing the rotoscoping, so I'm merely utilizing what Jackpumpkinhead is doing anyway.

sorry its taking so long HAL. i really did intend for it to be done already. i've just had a lot going on. i have been working on it in my free time, which has been very little.

ive watched bits of this version, i really like the padme lives scene.

i LOVE the Qui Gon voice. the only thing i would change is lower the volume a bit and maybe add a bit of echo to it to give it that OT Obiwan feel. just a thought.

It's okay, PumpkinMan. There's no real deadline or anything. I think I will go ahead an release a 1080p V3b of Eps 2 and 3 as a Myspleen exclusive in the meantime. If Jackson returns for a Windu spinoff film or other such nonsense, we'll be ready for it.

Someone else advised that Qui-Gon's voice was too loud, so I've taken it down a little. I listened to ANH and tried to have this voice roughly match that one. I'll try a little reverb and see how it sounds. That and recording the slight variation in the medical droid's dialogue.

A couple, actually. Ahsoka's yellow saber is a shorter one she uses along with her full-sized green one, so it sometimes looks greenish-yellow, though I attribute that to either the fact that it's always seen next to the green one, or the background color fucking with the saber glow.

Here's Ahsoka with both of her lightsabers fighting a Mandalorian with an ancient proto-lightsaber ("darksaber" or something):

And then there's the Jedi Temple guards with yellow lightsabers - they're only seen toward the end of Season 5 though:

Not really relevant to your project so much, but these are the only canon examples of lightsaber colors other than blue, red, green, or purple (which is why I threw in the "darksaber" as well, even though it wasn't really part of the discussion).

Here's a new version of the scene, slightly different from before. I hated this part the most because of my own voice coming into play at a crucial moment. It is not too late if anyone would like to record the lines themselves and send them to me, or post them here. Ideally, it'd be someone else's voice! I have the affect roughly what I'd like, or somewhere between what I've done and what the robot sounded like originally.

I think your voice fits pretty well, HAL.

Me too, although I can certainly understand that he'd prefer to hear *someone else's* voice on his version.

Anyway Hal, I thought I better chime in with my thoughts on this, seeing as you ended up using the We cannot say how long she will survive wording I proposed.

Your re-recording sounds pretty good I reckon, but seeing as I know how much effort you've put into your prequel edits, I thought I'd better bring up a very *little* thing that struck me after I listened to your clip a couple of times.  As I previously mentioned, I haven't checked out any of your versions yet...so I didn't know you were *also* including the medical droid then saying the words We are preparing to deliver the babies immediately afterwards...and you hadn't mentioned that line in your comments at the time.

So here's the thing I wanted to point out.  You might be 100% happy with how all three lines now sound, but I kinda think that the droid saying We at the start of *both* those sentences sounds a bit 'off' somehow, and doesn't flow as well as it could.  So seeing as you are using that third line too, my slight alteration to what I suggested would be this instead -

She has sustained severe injuries.  I cannot say how long she will survive.  We are preparing to deliver the babies.

As I say, it's a very little thing indeed, and you'll just have to decide for yourself if you prefer this more 'flowing'-sounding alteration using the I instead of the first We, or if you prefer the still correct, but slightly more 'stilted'-sounding current wording from the droid.

You've done some good stuff, either way.

(Thankfully I won't have this kind of wording problem to begin with...as unlike yourself, The Cutter, Q2, and eventually adywan too...I'm keeping Padme *dead as a dodo* for what I have in mind for myself - regardless of what Leia says in ROTJ - as I'm including certain footage that I prefer where that's concerned - although it *won't* be due to her 'losing the will to live'!)  :)

Final thought concerning your dialogue - would the words I cannot say how long she might survive be better or not, do you think?

Here's some ideas for phrasing. Any thoughts are helpful.

She has sustained severe injuries. I cannot say how long she might survive. We are preparing to deliver the babies. She's carrying twins.

Her injuries are severe, but she is fighting for survival. I cannot say how long she might last. We're preparing to deliver the babies.

Her injuries are rather severe. She is stable, but I cannot say how long she might last. We're preparing to deliver the babies.

Her injuries are severe. I cannot say how long she might last, but her determination is evident. We're preparing to deliver the babies.

Despite her severe injuries, she has a strong will to survive. I cannot say how long she might last. We are preparing to deliver the babies.

She has a strong will to live, despite her severe injuries. I bet she'd live long enough for at least one of the babies to remember her.

That last one's good! But I think it's probably best to stick with what you have but with the I insteax of we. Don't change will to might, it should be more definite that her death is imminent.

Impatient, aren't ya. It'll be done when it is done. These things take time. Constantly asking for updates isn't going to get it done any quicker.

sorry i only asked because it's been a while since he gave an update that's all.

I just had an idea. What if instead of dying from injuries, during her medical scan they discover that she has some kind of terminal condition that she had kept secret up to that point. It would help to intensify Anakin's tragedy as despite everything he did she was always destined to die.

Though I'm not sure how to convey that in the line or two that you have to work with.

Maybe something like:

"We discovered an inoperable mass in her cerebrum. The condition is terminal though complete determination of life expectancy will require further testing."

No, that's too much information out of nowhere. It need to be just enough to allow for her to live a few years and imply she will ultimately die from her injuries from Anakin. The jist is that she is going to live but she's hurt enough that she will die from it eventually. Because I'm not changing the thoroughly 'prequell' nature of the movie (compared to Q2, for example), I have the theoretical advantage of the viewer already having seen ROTJ. If they haven't, then this is merely reason #47 why it doesn't work well to see them chronologically on one's first viewing. Even so, it would leave her final fate hanging until you get to ROTJ.

^Episode II is waiting on some FX work from Jackpumpkinhead. He's rotoscoping Sam Jackson's lightsaber blue. Once it's done I can begin encoding immediately.

No. He's not had time yet to finish it, and has personal things going on. And it takes about a solid week for me to encode each version. Any ETA would be useless; it's just when he finishes his rotoscoping. But be patient; there's no real deadline for this.

unfortunately i have also been having trouble with my computer and i am worried one of the hdd is corrupted/failing. i rendered a few of the videos and it seemed as though everything worked out okay but when i went to check them my computer started to hang up on me. i am really running on a less than ideal system anyway. i just dont have the cash to get anything better. i will be backing up all of the project files to an external drive so i don't lose anything tonight and hopefully get the first batch of finished videos to you then HAL

*actual literal cringe* Good luck. I feel lucky not to have suffered computer trouble, when I think about how often I hear about it happening to us. Fingers crossed for you.

well it is still running, but it was acting funny. i recently installed a new hdd that was given to me so it might just be the drive. everything should pan out. no worries

Bad news, everyone! Labyrinth Of Evil will be delayed a short bit because the two deleted scenes I'm using that I hadn't used before look like shit when encoded. I'm going to re-rip and upconvert them using the old method, which will require time to reencode the final product.

And before anyone asks, it'll be done when I have time to finish it. Be patient, and it'll be here before you know it.

Quoting, underlining and bolding this before you-know-who shows up.

But on a serious note, what new deleted scenes are you adding this time? The added Rebellion subplot was something that really made the edit for me in v2, and I've never actually sat and watched any deleted scenes from ROTS, so I honestly have no idea what else there is.
