Sounds awesome!

Were you able to reinstate Obi-Wan’s line about Anakin potentially rivaling Master Yoda as a swordsman? Or was that too on the nose?

Didn’t seem at all necessary to me, so no I didn’t.

I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.

Fair enough. I don’t think I reinstated that line either when I added the Yoda duel to a previous version of your edit. Only other thing I could see people bringing up in the future for AotC is this deleted snippet:

But it doesn’t paint a pretty picture for the guy who earlier in the film says they’re keepers of the peace, not soldiers. Granted, I do think showing the hypocrisy of the Jedi actually makes Anakin a more sympathetic character.

Damn, and I had just watched the Approaching Storm the other day for my big saga rewatch with CW Refocused and Spence’s Kenobi. Either way, thank you so much for all the hard work you’ve done, including coming back to these edits 1 more time after swearing off of them.
I love what you did with the romance in TAS, at first I didn’t know if the trimming of the forbidden love conflict would work but it really did in the end, you did a great job in making me a believer. Now I’m curious how it would seem with that scene reinserted (I assume it’s the diner dialogue and not the fireplace scene?)

When it’s comes to RotS “purist” do you plan on putting the actual scene of Anakin about to attack the younglings? I think it was Spence who cut the scene but left in Yoda/Obi-Wans discussing the saber marks, which could work if you’re wanting something a little more subtle?

I plan to simply plug that component in, in small part due to that actor supplying a voice line for Ascendant. Also it’s a big moment of the movie so for a purist sort of alternate cut I think it’s good to retain. Also to tie into Kenobi (show).

Would it be advisable to restore a couple of the meme lines in the Purist version (I’m specifically thinking “this is where the fun begins”, and “I am the senate”.) I know ultimately it’s still a fan edit and isn’t going to please everybody who loves the original version, but I feel like those lines have reached such an iconic status online that they’re absence from the movie is somewhat jarring. I feel this is a pretty different situation than the sand line in AOTC, which is more infamous for being bad. These are lines that I think people genuinely like.

Also there’s an music cut early on in LOE that I notice every time I watch and should be relatively easy to clean up. I Will try to post an example video later.

Fair point, and I guess those lines would be fine. The “fun begins” line was removed because it was an OT reference that doesn’t need to be there, but you’re right that people like it so that may let it win out for a ‘crowdpleaser’ alternate edit.

And by all means, please let me know about that music transition you find jarring.

Maybe it’s because I’m too familiar with the score, but It’s at 15:41 in the current edit. Grevious lands in the escape pod bay, then there is a cut to the bridge where Obi-Wan and Anakin are fighting, and the score is truncated and kind of repeats itself in an odd way. I think if you actually cut a little but more of Obi-Wan and Anakin mowing down the droids it would smooth it out. Essentially the musical phrase would play out once instead of getting cut off early then repeating. I’ll try to provide a video.
