Star Wars Custom Blu Ray Saga Set (a WIP) — Page 11

I suppose it’s worth noting that the surprise hasn’t ever been released on television either.

They are cracking down on films in general right now, so I do not think they will allow a blu-ray rip of something currently being sold, even if it’s repackaged. But I could be wrong.

Author
Time

Well I suppose we’ll find out. Haha. If not, it isn’t a big deal to release through some other avenue.

I think 2011 will be the only thing I might have a problem with though. They have let schorman’s HDTV 2004 versions stay up.

Speaking of which, I know I already posted this but does anybody have that who can send it to me somehow? I still haven’t made a dent in the torrent.

They said the only exception for movies is Star Wars, but I doubt they’d let the unaltered 2011 Blu-ray stay up.

Right. It’s surely the one and only exception for Star Wars.

Well I’ll see how it all goes down when the disc is released. Maybe I’ll contact mods and let them know what the project is and just ask if it’d be acceptable.

Any guesses as to the secret release? ;p
I like this feeling like when you know you’ve got an awesome birthday present for someone and having them guess what it is haha.

Author

I assume this secret release is purely related to A New Hope? All i can think of is cast audition tapes.

Any more hints? is it feature length?

 (Edited)

Not cast audition tapes. It is purely related to a new hope.

No more hints, sorry. I have a feeling it’ll be an extended period of time before someone guesses it. Haha oh well.

Author
Time

I guess this could be seen as a hint, but it pertains directly to A New Hope, but the other films will also get their own version of it.

Also, kinda lied when I said no more hints because I gave a hint right after I said that.

Author

Nope. Although that would be awesome. Someone should suggest to him to do that.

Anyone know where I can find this in higher quality? I’d like to use it as a bumper along with the THX logo at the beginning of the discs.

Not to sound like an ass, but the BD itself has it, if I remember correctly. You would have to rip it or have someone rip it, though.

Honestly I haven’t actually sat down and watched the BD since I bought it like four years ago so I had forgotten haha. Thank you for letting me know though

Hwy, that’s more than me. I’ve only actually watched ROTS on Blu Ray.

Does anybody have a good source for “Anatomy of a Dewback (1997)”? I can’t seem to find a source to pull it from. They used to have it on starwars.com, but alas, no more.

Author

It’s in the blu-ray set as well I believe.

Author

I’m starting to think maybe I should pop in my blu Rays before I ask any more questions haha

I am extremely happy to say that all of the material for Disc 1 is finalized.
I have both the color corrected 1977 and 1981 versions of the movie finished rendered, menus all finished, apart from a couple thumbnails for the chapter selection menu, which should be finished later today, and the audio tracks extracted directly from DeEd’s MKV.

Now onto probably the quickest (which sounds funny to say, cuz it’ll still take quite some time) part of the process, authoring the discs.

I am really happy with how this is turning out. Discs 2 and 3 should not take nearly as long, given they are much more drag and drop; no color correction or recreating crawls or anything.

Can you write up a full manifest for the three discs besides the surprise?

The first post is kept pretty up to date with what’s included. Really the only thing not listed is audio, which for Disc One will include the three DTS-HD-MA tracks (5.1, 2.0, and 1.0).

Discs Two and Three are still in their infancy. I’m still trying to gather the necessary tracks for them, so until I finish Disc One, not too much will be said in terms of technical details for them.

I’ve always wondered how the 1997/2004 version will be presented on a single disc. I would have expected a 2004/2011 split disc since they are similar in color grading.

Great to hear you’re making so much progress… 😃
