Scam download sites from Google ads

First let me make it clear that I'm not complaining about the introduction of Google ads one bit. In fact I would encourage everyone to click a few ads every day to help Jay pay for the running costs of the site.

That being said, I did find this funny so thought I'd share. One of the ads looks like this:

and takes you to a site called FetchFlix.com, which provides

Hmmm, lets take a look at the download software provided. That image looks familiar. Yup, right-click/properties shows the image filename as KLITEpg2_12.jpg!

I noticed this also.

I don't think Google does a very good job of policing their ads. Or they don't care.

Please refrain from going click-crazy. Google supposedly has sophisticated algorithms (as well as actual people) that keep track of such things. If a forum with ~1800 members gets as many ad clicks in one day, it's going to look fishy. That would be an unheard-of click through rate and very suspicious.

If you see an ad for something that interests you, click it. If not, then don't. Simple enough.

I think the ad should be removed. Jay has killed a thread with a link to a download of EpIII, he has threatened to ban people who post links to downloads of EpIII. How then, can you justified putting an ad on this site for a download of EpIII? no offense intended.

Jay dosen't select the ads, Google does. Unfortunally, they don't seem to check out or even bother to read about who is buying ad space from them. But I don't think that ad will show up again.

google does have a complaint form for bad advertisements.

I have filled it out already for that, I think that Jay can exclude certain ads from appearing.
