For those of you in the UK, I was interviewed by the BBC Radio Film Programme. It airs this Friday at 16:30. Amazing that Star Wars Begins has reached such a serious and well respected programme. For everyone else there will be a podcast up soon. I will post the link provided the interview edit turns out well.

As mentioned in the Petition forum: Jambe's BBC interview available at:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00z62g9#synopsis

starts around 9:50 (5 minutes)  They produced the hell out of the segment, but it's really promotes JD!  Hope it leads to something.  Did you happen to record the full interview, anything left on the floor worth noting?

The attention being given is astonishing. After listening to the BBC interview maybe you should enter the official fan film contest Jambe!

Great name/series dropping, Jambe. Red Dwarf and The IT Crowd? Nice!

Stupid me, I forgot to mention Nathan Hamill in the interview. He's been so cool about my work. There may be a little vision treat on the horizon from him too. I will keep you posted.

Updated the first page of the thread today.

I'm halfway through it. Really something special. Job well done.

Also, something struck me when I heard Ralph McQuarrie talking about how Lucas wanted Vader's face wrapped in black silk. Ever see the old movie Thief of Bagdad (sic), with Conrad Veidt? I wonder if Veidt's entrance was an inspiration for that early version...

^That's pretty cool. You never know! :) We did end up with the wrapped faces of the sandpeople, though that's more like The Mummy or The Invisible Man with hardware attached. :p

I also LOVE the look of Herbert Lom's Phantom from the Hammer Films version:

I could see a creepy look like that working for an early version of Vader as well.

Yeah. There are a few movies/scenes/characters that Lucas and co. have acknowledged as sources. But anything else is a tough call.

Still, I'm always fascinated by these similarities. The sandpeople DO look a lot like Claude Rains in the Invisible Man. Goggles wrapped with gauze!

Then again, Jambe's movie shows how some really distinctive designs -- like the Jawas -- were just ad hoc replacements.

I'm actually using AvP's trilogy cover for all three documovies. :)

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum but have been a star wars fan forever.  Now, I've downloaded and watched the NTSC Version of Star Wars begins, love it but I have a problem.  At the end, after Luke gets out of the X-Wing after blowing up the death star, right about when C-3PO is going to check out R2 the movie ends and goes right into the rough cut of the opening crawl.  Basically I'm missing the last 5 minutes or so of the film.  Anyone else have this problem?  I used JDownloader to grab all the files and used ImgBurn to burn the folder/files to a disc.  I've tried an SL DVD-R and also a DL DVD-R for the heck of it and the same problem happened both times.  Never had a problem using these programs or discs for burning dvd's in the past.

The cover still sports the typo. I could manipulate it in Photoshop but if an 'official' corrected version could be posted that'd be better.

The Demons are indeed hungry. They are now feasting on Zepplinrox's Miami versions of Returning To Jedi. Both SL NTSC and DL PAL.
