Star Wars A New Hope - my first edit (* unfinished project *)

Howdy,

Last week, I went on a search to find an unaltered version after watching the “Enhanced” version, and found this place. I don’t subscribe to newsgroups, so I couldn’t find any of the fine examples discussed here.

And I made my own. Here’s an example of my AVI. It came out pretty good, I think. Took me days of tinkering though.

It’s from the SE Theatrical edition and is now anamorphic @ 720x330, includes Greedo’s subtitles in-frame, and has better color saturation and contrast. Otherwise, it’s untouched. File size is a little over 4GB.

I’d love to compare this with Dark Jedi’s GOUT version.

Sorry for the misplacement. Since this is a fan edit, my project for preserving the original Star Wars movies, I mistakenly thought I should post it in "Fan Edits, Preservation Efforts, and Other Fan Projects".

Fan edits are creative fan made editing.

The preservation forum is where the sources are improved, as it looks you're doing.

As far as I can tell, you haven't actually edited anything. See the FAQ for our definitions of Fan Edits, Preservation Projects and Custom DVDs.

This is most likely why it was moved out of Fan Edits into Preservation.  If you had mentioned that you've manipulated the storyline by moving scenes or changing dialog then it would have remained.

Feel free to explain, what your source was, what software you used, what other tools were used, what image modifications you made, how they were done, etc.

If you'd like to compare screen shots of your work verses various other preservation attempts:

Gotcha.

I could post a clip somewhere - Rapidshare? if anyone is interested. Any scene requests?

I'll post later what I used. Gotta go.
