Instead of waving at the air the officer pulls a lever.
That’s special. Love things like that 😃
alderan and death star the same explosion…? 😮
Huh? I’m pretty sure that the new Death Star explosion doesn’t use any elements from either of the Alderaan explosions. Unless you were suggesting using the new explosion for Alderaan too, in which case I heavily disagree.

Yup no elements from that composite are used here. 😏

Beginning around 1:27:11, during the shot of 3PO looking at the Falcon, it seems that a starfield slowly starts creeping up into the bottom of the picture.

Thanks for letting me know.

That’s a subtle, but fantastic change!

I, for one, am actually in favor of adding the camera shake during the explosion, and against adding Yavin Prime. But that’s just me.

It amazes me how much detail was lost in the re-done scenes of the se:

Thats shot is down to lowrys cleanup. There are so many frames in the 2011 release that have part of the image from the following frame . Its usually the first frame in a shot that has a section of the following frame. You can see the ghosting where the real frame in that section is underneath. But also the SE changes, so many weren’t rendered in full HD, just 720p. Some elements weren’t even render in HD at all.

I think George locked them in a room and wouldn’t let them eat until the whole trilogy was ready.
Coming back to that shot of the Super Laser Control Room…

I found this image of the actual Steam Factory of the Location Shoot.
All the lit Buttons looking yellow is quite interesting rather than white but it also got me wondering about the two big black boxes on the right by the other guy.
Do you think they were meant to be Screens with some kind of graphic? Like showing the power charging up or something?
It could be a very cool addition to make the black boxes screens but creating the graphic or finding a suitable graphic is perhaps difficult if it’s something you feel like also attempting. I think it could be a good idea that is all and I though I would share that.
This Graphic looks retro enough?
I did a quick mock up to see what it might look like.

Ok Did a bit Better attempt anyway just for fun this looks alright I reckon.

That’s actually pretty awesome Ronster!

Well it could be awesome because that shot is used twice I think…
So for Alderaan you just would perhaps want to show the charging up and operational but before the death star blows up you might want to show a critical condition 😃
Then it would not feel as duplicated and telling a story.
Could be cool it’s up to the no named guy.

Do you have any plans for additional changes to the dialogue other than those previously discussed?

Ronster posted a pretty kickass re-edit of the Vader/Kenobi duel in the deleted scenes thread. Since you’ve already expressed interest in incorporating one of the trailer shots, was thinking you might find some inspiration in his version.
Is the V2 for this still in the works? V1 of the devastator edition was excellent.

UPDATE: Editing halt
so in June my Mac studio which I do all my work on randomly short-circuited even though it was only like 2 years old. Thankfully due to Apple’s kindness, I was able to recover my stuff and put it on a newly bought replacement. But Mac Killer struck again a mere two months later. My Mac was in my luggage bag when I traveled to Orlando aswell as when I left. once I arrived at JFK and picked my bag up to go back home, I realized something; the dent the Mac Studio box makes when in my bag wasn’t there anymore and neither was the lock. I opened it up, and lo and behold it was gone. I immediately contacted the airline, followed by airport security, and finally a report to the police. they located my computer using Find My, but it’ll take at least a month before they can act on it for some reason. so yeah sorry for the big delay to my edits. hopefully editing and work in general can continue in December.
also thanks Samsonite for your crap locks!
BTW: I bought a new MacBook to use as my main machine temporarily. but by the looks of it, it might be more than temporary.
