Your IP address location can be off as the ISP only publishes so many locations based on the first sets of your address (do you really want people finding your house?), but I'm pretty sure every home/school router has its own distinct IP address. They won't be statically assigned (you have to pay extra for that), but each location should have one or they'd never be able to accuse individuals of piracy!

While I'm not going to divulge details given to me in a PM, I will say in general terms that there are many valid reasons why two users might share an IP address.

For example, at one time Rob and Stinky-Dinkins both posted from the same workplace (as evidenced by the exchange here). Another time, when I enquired why two users shared an IP, I was told they were husband and wife.

If you took your laptop around to a friend's house and posted using their wifi, your posts would be logged with their IP address.

I guess after the JediTray incident(s), I was left a little more twitchy about IP addresses. I should have asked for clarification before applying an instant ban.

Anyway, Nebula's back, but is on thin ice if he doesn't practice a little civility.

Basically, one of Angel's friends doesn't like me then.
