Sequal Trilogy Recommendation

Hi,

I have looked over the projects available and wondered which someone would recommend? I have started on Hal 9000 but I wondered if there was a less reserved culling of scenes.

Two that caught my eye were:
21C Peasant - Star Wars: The Legend of the Solo Twins
JakeRyan17 - Sequel Trilogy (Special Edition + StormPilot)

Although the latter seems pretty restrained (not that thats bad just looking for something shorter).

So I guess I have 2 questions:
Which would you recommend and why?
Which would you recommend that is specifically shortened but not a complete change of story?

For TFA, I’ve gotta go with Nev’s Starlight edit. I have no idea if it’s shorter than the original movie, but it is a better paced, more fleshed out version of TFA.

I don’t really dip into edits of TLJ, but you can’t go wrong with HAL’s edit. It’s shorter by 9 minutes while keeping the story the same. A similar edit is poppasketti’s, which shaves off three more minutes, tones down humor if that’s what you want, and seeds the idea of Palpatine’s return.

For TROS, I heard on fanedit.org about an edit of Spence’s TROS edit, The Final Order. Spence’s original edit is already shorter than the original film and makes things more focused by keeping Rey a nobody & killing Leia off in the beginning. Apparently, the re-edit of Spence’s edit improves things further by having Kylo’s first be him mourning his mother, so it sounds like it’s worth tracking down.

If you’re looking for the definitive versions of the sequel trilogy, then I would recommend:
The Force Awakens: Starlight by NeverarGreat
The Last Jedi: Rekindled by poppasketti
The Rise of Skywalker: Ascendant by Hal 9000 (a V5 is in the works, and will likely be released soon)

That being said, I watched The Legend of the Solo Twins a couple months ago, and it’s an amazing reimagining of the sequel trilogy. No Palpatine, and Snoke is the ‘final villain’. It was really clever how the editor incorporated his scenes from the Last Jedi to be inside the chamber in Rise of Skywalker, and while it’s not perfect, it is a rather consistent experience and far better than the ‘official’ versions.

I have never seen JakeRyan17’s cut. If you watch it, let me know what you think.

Starlight is about three minutes shorter than the Theatrical version of the film, mostly due to small trims and line cuts.

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
