Sounded like 1977 vintage Vader to me. People sometimes forget the way he sounded before they changed it for the SE.

Where were you in '77?

People keep saying Rebels has McQuarrie sabers. While a lot of the shows design is inspired by McQuarrie, the sabers and other effects like the way ships are shot are very consciously inspired directly from the OT:

Well I'll say first of all that they're thinner than they were in 77 but I'd also say that the fighting styles do not align. If they have fencing sabers, they should be fighting like fencers, like in the original film. But they fight like in Empire, where the lightsabers were noticeably thicker.

Again, on paper the thin lightsabers are a good idea (and I thought so when I heard they would do it) but in practice when you actually see it in motion it does look rather silly. It's not a big issue but I wouldn't mind it being changed.

Not a huge fan of the show, but Vader is great in it, and he has the look he’s supposed to have in this era (don’t know why the helmet and the “eyes” were modified in Ep III). There is a truly wonderful scene with Ashoka is involved (sort of) in.

I remember that! It made me pretty excited to see it actually because they look more like the sabers from ANH or TPM

The reason I like the thin sabers is simply because it looks cool to me, so I won’t be getting this.

Seems as if this thread has been resurrected, I am getting a lot of PM’s now of where it is for download. Problem is I never seeded it. Because of what I thought of lack of interest. I will create a seed tonight.

The ‘mechanization’ of his voice in '77 was stronger than it was in the later films.

I will say that applying a slight bass boost to the JEJ lines brings his voice much more in line with ESB/ROTJ. I did this to the Vader/Emperor speech from season 2 and it feels like it was taken straight out of ESB.

Something to consider for anyone doing fan edits of this series.

Season 2 is 75% complete. I’ve been getting a lot of pm’s on this. My next update will be when it is complete. It’s been slow going because I’ve been crazy busy at work. So I do a little when I can. But I have not abandoned the project. Please be patient. Thanks for your interest and support. All I got to say is thank god season 4 is the end. LOL

Personally, I love Vader’s red eyes, and would actually rather add them to the film. They match his lightsaber, making for a more unified design.

I’m just discovering your work now, and I’m in love with it. Honestly in love. The original thin lightsabers look like characters are just whacking at each other with limp, bendy noodles. Your enhanced lightsaber effects truly make the show as a whole look so much better.

I hope you can continue with this project!
