Yeah, Sevb I know what you mean, but I think we have to accept that it's going to take some time.

Maybe we'll get some pics of the model building progress instead.

Very classy Asteroid-Man! I love the stark minimalism of it. Every element has its place and nothing feels extraneous. Well done!!

The only change I would make is to put Luke above the title instead of Obi-Wan. It is Luke's story afterall, and with Vader and Kenobi at the bottom, you have the three most important characters in the film on the cover.

I would argue it's Artoo's movie. =P

Anyway, can't wait to hear on any progress with the wampa and the falcon ady. =)

I plan on using Luke for Return of the Jedi.

Damn, you've got me pimped. Fantastic work Ass Master!

Im actually going to use these over my own covers, as they are so different to all the custom artwork out there, and will really make it stand out in my collection.

Now im all demoralised with my own set :-(

Kudos to cover designers at the OT.

No doubt Jedi is 'almost' done?

wow

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

You should go ahead and make a ROTJ cover.

I'll be doing ROTJ and maybe TPM next week. I have to get a bunch of my work done by tonight, and then I have class and work through out the week. The following weeks I have my last days of class and I have exams on the 18th, 19th, the 22nd and the 23rd. The weekend of the 26th I'm going to Ottawa so if I do get around to doing new covers it'll have to be during the next dew weekends. Thanks for all the positive comments guys!

Wow. Great covers. Only thing: for any of us, the names are all that is needed, but usually SW covers have the episode number on the spine. For anyone not completely familiar with the saga, that might be helpful.

I happen to think that episode titles on the spine are entirely unnecessary, but it's really an aesthetic choice.

I've also got a suggestion for the ESB spine logo, something I did a while back for an old cover ... let me try and dig it up or recreate it and I'll get back to you ...

What if I had the Episode Number behind the title on the front and behind Vader on the side?

I have made a more serious poster
though seeing A-M's poster i feel dwarfed
i am open for critisism (I know about the matte lines)

If you would ACTUALLY like to get better I can give you tutorials of sorts. Otherwise just stop posting paint manips cause people are getting annoyed and you're just losing credibility.

Ok, here's a cover I made for this edit:

Yay man! very good! I like that all the covers keep the same style and changing some characters. I love the minimal feel ;)

Good luck with your axams!

Asteroid-Man, I like your covers, but get rid of the bar codes. They make them look like cheap generic versions from Wal-Mart.

No need folks!

A-man's covers look as pro as the oficial are. All the details are there for a reason.

Here's a version with numbers as requested.

fishman, were you saying ok to tutorials or ok to stopping?

Thanks vaderios! I wanted to maintain a consistant look.

Janskeet, I make all of my covers with barcodes and I refuse to remove it. Sorry, but I'm all for realism and it ads to it IMO. If you saw he magazine I made for one of my classes you would be shocked at the detail. I had a page filled with editor information and contact info, and the front had a bar code with prices, dates etc. It should be VERY easy to remove yourself, so I'm not gonna go to the trouble of fixing something you can do yourself. Sorry for being so direct.
