With all due respect, what is the point of redoing the crawl; what was wrong with the original?

Clarity. Continuity. We talked about it already.

Ok, i've just seen a video and i'm pretty sure now that someone at lucasfilm is keeping a close eye on this project. Too many similarities between this clip from the Star Tours ride and the new transport scene in revisited:
http://youtu.be/uH3YzXKf2VI?hd=1&t=15s
Ion cannon positioned next to the hangar entrance, 2 transports taking off at the same time, blue ion cannon lasers. hmmmm. I guess now i'm going to get accused of stealing the idea from the Star Tours ride now.
Yes, but we have years old video online that prove that you didn't. Not that ALL of those things don't make perfect sense anyway.

This being from the same Star Tours footage that shows Darth Vader riding (for reasons best known to himself) a Dalek Hoverbout.
It is suspicious, but at the same time it's totally possible somebody at Lucasfilm saw your videos and said, wow, we're retarded for not thinking of that before. If nothing else, official Star Wars materials are looking more like Revisited, which is far from a bad thing. At the least you're having a positive impact on the franchise.
yeh i actually think it's kind of cool that Revisited is getting recognized.
I bet the the TV21 fans are a bit miffed though.
Darth McFly. *rolling eyes*
I think it's pretty evident they know and follow what Ady's doing in revisited. I mean, people who work on SW-related projects in LFL are very often geeks like us, and it's expectable that they are at a point well informed about what's happening here...
Who could know about revisited?
a) Someone who likes SW and the OT
b) Someone who's interested in editing, and cinema.
People working at LFL fullfill both A and B requisites. Besides, you know for good the guy who played Tarkin at CW follows and supports revisited (in facebook at least), so he might share his experience within LFL, or he might have been introduced to revisited by people working at LFL.
A whole different thing would be wether GL himself knows (or even more: has seen) revisited
I would think the Revisited projects are way too big and out there for Mr. Lucas not to know by now.
I see it as something to be proud of. Now try to imagine the people at other more Lucas-liking sites and how they're probably yelling that the cannon isn't canon. ;-)adywan said:

New clip. unfortunately it looks pretty crap on youtube
Looks beautiful, Ady, but that's no surprise. The added impacts and explosions in the asteroid field really make the whole thing feel much more real. I also like how you cut out useless "There's nowhere to go" comment from 3-PO that they added for the special edition.
It looks stunning!
It looks beautiful Ady, as usual, although I feel there's something quite not right with the tansport scene. Aesthetically it's amazin what you've done, but, may it be the transport moves too fast?
I mean, from the PT (and don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the PT just because, even if it looks fake, some CGI-models behave more realistically in PT than in OT) we get to see that big ships land or take of with a rather strong effort compared to fighters such as X-wing or Jedi Fighters. The transport takes off quite fast, easy, as if it had little inertia for such a huge mass. Compare it to the star destroyer taking off in ROTS.
Anyway, take that or leave it, it certainly won't affect the amazing job you are doing ;)
Cheers
The new clip looks great, Ady, but I noticed something: R2's light doesn't ever turn blue in your clip, it just alternates between red and "off." Also, were any of the new Falcon shots made with the Fine Molds model? Or were they CG?
Can anyone list all the changes in the clip? I'm not sure if I spotted all of them.
I hate to say anything, not knowing what has and hasn't been finalized, but I guess I should... Anyway, at around 1:11 when the Falcon starts going upwards, it's a little rough, like maybe an extra frame or two could make it bank a little smoother. I dunno, maybe I'm seeing something that isn't even an issue. :p
I love the way the ion cannon deploys now. Very, very cool!
Hate to comment about the one change that obviously hasn't happened yet — but I'm very much looking forward to seeing the new canyon shot.
ady have you received the prizes you won at that show yet?
Beautiful work, Ady. As always, the new clip looks fantastic. Thanks for posting it.
Thanks for the new clip.
Looking great as usual.
You know I hate suggesting this but it might aid the transition of Luke from Hoth to Dagobah if we saw a glimpse of the Hoth through the cockpit window as he leaves (in the way you added Yavin in ANH:R).
Naturally it would have to match the tilt and speed of the ship but adding a already small but receding planet behind Artoo might (just might) work.
Though as always I am aware how late in the day it is to post suggestions but this is the first time I've seen this version of the footage.

I actually thought about doing something like this ages ago but i realized that you wouldn't see Hoth through the rear cockpit window. If you notice the angle at which it leaves Hoth, then the following shot it turns to the left, so the planet would be to the right and offscreen during the first cockpit shot

I got a phone call yesterday to say that they will be delivered Wednesday
that's good news
pm on it's way to you
re: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uh4Uqf-wSJY&feature=feedu
At 0:32, would it be conceivable to show a transport or 2 in the distance heading off to the left side of the screen (or some indication that the transports leaving right before and after Luke takes off are somewhere around, as you don't see anything else other than Luke's X-wing)?
Oh, and the clip... is... mind blowing. I love how the top SD at 1:37 is already starting to maneuver away, and after the bridge shot the 3 SDs are scattering away from each other. You know, among everything else in the clip.
And just when I thought I could patiently wait till December, now I'm thinking of doing a Cartman from GO, GOD, GO! so I don't have to wait the 5 to 6 months for this to come out..
