STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW — Page 881

Not only does the Revisited version slam the 2004 DVD into the ground in terms of color correction and continuity (gah, the prequel Emperor is awful), but Ady's hologram looks like an actual hologram, not just blue-tinted CGI inserted into the scene.

Fantastic, Ady! :)

Sluggo approves of this shot.

So no one has noticed the creepy smile i added to the emperor when he says "yes, yes". at the end then ;) A bit of a nod the the original 1980 version there

I was going to comment on that. It perfectly matches the smile he had when he said "Much like your father's" in ROTJ. How'd you manage to do that? Did you "cantina-ize" his lips?

Wow, that new clip was just perfect. I love the new smile during the line "Yes... He would be a great asset". Just perfect! He actually shows some emotion, yet the unblinking eyes are just so creepy! I love it! A huge improvement over the other.

That was one of the first things I noticed, and is probably my favorite thing you added. :P

I noticed the smile - great touch!

Gotta say, Ady, it looks absolutely fantastic.  My only quibble - and it is minor - is that it looks a little too "grayscale."  The 1980 version had more of a clear "flesh tone" to the face, and you can clearly see color in the officers' holograms before you get to the Emperor scene.

Other than that, I'm stunned.  It actually looks like (gasp!) the Emperor now!

Wow, it's awesome and a comparison like that was exactly what was needed too.

Btw. Ady, did you make him smile subtly during the "yes, yes" line?

Because I think you did and I think it's totally awesome because the original 1980 emperor did that too and it totally works!

Wait, so adywan, you're not using the recently discovered "Luke" sound byte from McDiarmand?

Very good work on the Emperor scene Ady. I'd told myself I wasn't going to watch it until the project was finished, but I couldn't resist! Excellent job.

The main problem is that the face of the 2004 version is blue/cyan. I did attempt to add more of a flesh tone to it but it looked terrible IMO. Plus in the 1980 version the emperor had more of a greenish face. His ROTJ appearance he is very pale, almost white skinned in some scenes.

I guess no one ever reads the video information ;)

This video shows a comparison between the 2004 DVD Emperor and the newly tweaked Revisited version. As you will see the flicker is on the 2004 version and it cannot be eliminated because i have to match the brightness levels of the 2004 mouth with the new elements for the Revisited version so they blend together. You can also see just how static the original Emperors face is throughout the scene. I have tweaked the face of the Revisited Emperor since the last video. Again the audio is only a temp track and so may not be fully in sync and the dialogue is unfinished

It seems like every time you post a new clip, someone has an issue with the audio, and you have to remind them that you won't work on audio until the video is completely done.  People have such short attention spans! ;-)

Sorry dude, I was taking what you said about it being the "final" and you weren't going to change it anymore thing as the "last word." You were only speaking of the video then. ;)

You could always post the video without audio....of course then you'd get a bunch of complaints about the lack of audio....

"OMG, are you not doing ANY audio in that scene?  That's not the Star Wars I remember!"

Sorry, what?

Just put "RTFM" in your signature or write a FAQ, I suppose. Not everyone spends every day on these forums.

I guess I should add a special adywan section to this.

Oops, it seems like while I was typing my post about the smile, there were like a thousand new posts.

Or you could, you know, read the YouTube video description.  But that's another thing no one ever seems to do.

Did you manipulate the smile by hand or did you take any elements from his smiles in the other films?

It's a nice touch.

Yeah, I do all my work on a 2.5 years old laptop. That's why I absolutely cannot use lossless for editing. Can't wait for the MKV. Will it be complete with the comparison and all?

It's all done by hand
