Adywan,

I just watched your EP IV Edit and it was stupendous.  The SFX/CG work was seemless.  I look forward to seeing more of the work.

However, if I might voice a suggestion: I think Lucas perpetrated the most egregious additions on EP IV and EP VI.  (Jabba in EP IV, Musical in EP VI).  Maybe my memory's a little hazy, but I don't remember it being too bad with Empire Strikes Back (the only big change being the face of the Emperor, please do fix the effects on that, they look horrible! :)

Anyway, I hope you can speed through EP V in order to tackle the bigger problems with EP VI.

Hey, that wasn't a negative comment, please don't mischaracterize it as such.

Just wanted to say how much I'm looking forward to VI (I know that's a long way out, though).  I know it takes a lot of time and perseverance to get through these projects.  If it comes down to a choice between finishing V and VI with the big important edits, versus trying to do every single one in V and not being able to get to VI, I'd rather the former, wouldn't you? 

Anyway, no hard feelings.  Sorry if anyone feels I stepped on their toes. Didn't mean to.  Now to read DoubleoFive's review...

Welcome goatmonger. Don't worry, i'm pretty sure Lemonsteins reply was joke, since he was quoting Vader in ROTJ

 

I wouldn't be getting to ROTJ:R any quicker even if i did leave out some of the things that i'm doing with ESB:R because i will be will be waiting until the Blu-Rays are released before starting any work on ROTJ

 

Anyway just a quick couple of things:

There will be a short clip coming this christmas. Now i'm not sure which one it will be yet. 

Now we've finally found out when Dad will be starting his Chemotherapy and it will be towards the end of January, beginning of Feb. So this means i will have to be moving into his for around 8 weeks and i will be unable to work on any of the miniatures or other things. I can work on the video side because i'll be having my PC down there full time. So i need to work now full time on getting the creative side of thing finished before then so getting the final materials needed to achieve this now has to take priority over the video side of things. So I'm going to have to do something i really don't like doing....l

Anyone that donates between now and January31st will get an extra little clip as a thank you. It will be the finished and full new Emperor scene in 720p. It will have the original 1980 emperor for its audio track not only because i won't get to doing the audio until the full audio track is finished, but so you can also see just how close it is now when synced to the original lines.

The good thing is that i'll be selling most of this stuff (models costumes etc.)after filming has finished so i can put it all towards ROTJ:R, as this ones is going to be massive. I must be mad. lol

No doubt the Blu-rays will be out the same week you finish ESB:R and you'll start making progress with ROJ:R that weekend, Ady:)

Question:

Luke's tauntaun is sure peaceful when the burning probe droid falls out of the sky and crashes a few hundred meters away and creates a big hole in the ground.  It then gets nervous (rightly so) when the wampa snow creature sneaks up on it.  Shouldn't the tauntaun be frightened the moment the probe is crashing as well?

The probe doesn't fall close enough for it to care, or it would have noticed the Wampa long before it does currently IMO.

The probe doesn't crash anywhere near them. That's obvious from the view through Luke's macrobinoculars. The tauntaun probably smelled the Wampa coming, but the probe crashing is nothing irregular from what Luke and Han say to each other, all those meteors.

At starwars.com is available a new soundboard: DROIDS

And there's one sound labeled as "Lobot"; it's a strange sound I've never heard in the movies... clues anyone?

Speaking of droids: Ady, did you check on Anthony Daniel's face beng visible in the scene that Chewbacca had screwed (sorry) 3PO's head backwards?

The Lobot one sounds like one of the other sounds they ahve for him on the soundboards. None of them are in the movie and i hope they aren't adding them for the Blu-Ray release

Yeh, that would just be my luck. But i will be taking about 6 months off to start planning what i'm going to do before starting any video work

Didn't you say something similar for when you finished ANH???

Love the new Emperor holo scene, but the only thing that is bothering me about it is that he never blinks, making his eyes seem like a still frame the whole time.
