Search skillz may not be good, but your design skillz aint half bad though
Oh yeah, I'll post Hi-Rez for anyone who wants a copy. The images for the covers of ANH & ESB were both not particularly amazing quality either... had to be blown up... but not as much as the ROTJ one. It gives the images a softness, but actually i quite like that.

So, you may search again because I searched and found a lot of high res images last week and I found a big one for the one you used for ESB. Unfortunately I've already cleared out my files... Not sure but I think this big one was on impawards.com
Cheers.
Edit: Yes, not as big but big enough: http://www.impawards.com/1980/empire_strikes_back_ver7_xlg.html

Turns out that was the image I used for the ESB one. I re-did my ROTJ one over on the covers thread.

That looks cool!!!! How did you mock that up? Looks great! Have been umming and arr-ing as to whether to adjust the ANH cover to fit with the 'exploding box' design of the other two. Might try it out.

You can do it in photoshop, or grab some software from http://www.imandix.net/ to do it for ya from your image files. Theres a free download as well as more snazzy pay for it edition.
Im not stoked on you cutting the ANH image, but if it makes the set uniform, could be worth an experiment.
Didn't know you could do that in Photoshop... I'm guessing I understand about 2% of the program... just enough to get by.

I'll try and digg out some tutorials from a custom cover site to improve your skillz Mr. underware to aid you even futher.
I noticed that this Treadwell might as well be called Deadwell, It's just sitting in the middle of the hanger not moving or working on anything, doesn't it know there is a war on?:
A new suggestion? Blast it Bangowingu, we were so far off topic!

And finally... Return Of The Jedi. Hmmm.... it's a shame McQuarrie didn't do any real poster work for Return Of The Jedi as the stuff out there just doesn't seem to be quite as interesting as what I got for the other covers. I simply went for battle-tasticness instead of the artwork we've seen countless times on covers before! Just edited an odd poster I could only find in diminished res. Anyone got a hi-res version of this pic? Front may change if I come across something really special and logo on front my change to original classic type too. Anyway... I'm beat now. Enjoy all...

I have to weigh in and say that the movie titles on SW and ESB match the pictures well. A New Hope has Luke and Co. centered below and rising against the shadowy Empire. ?The Empire Strikes Back has the hand of Vader reaching out to crush the rebellion. But Return of the Jedi doesn't show a Jedi returning at all. I know you have limited amount of art to work from, but if you could find something that fits the title better?

Not a bad idea. Maybe a different color than the orange to distinguish it from the one that was seen everywhere on Tatooine.

Wow those look awesome. Really, they are high quality.
One more thing about the ESB cover though. Look at the 'revisited' logo on the side, it gets over taken by the darker portion of the cover. Can anything be done about it? Perhaps by changing the amount of spacing between each word ever so slightly?

To paraphrase Lady Bracknell "the colour is immaterial" I was refering to the fact it was a dead prop.
I don't know if it was meant to be moving but broke down or not but stuck where it is, it does look a bit of a strange place for the droid to power down.
Maybe just adding a bit of movement or removing/replacing it could be a possible solution.
Enigmas... I think thats just the way the program Darth Solo used is casting a shadow on the covers... that dark portion isnt actually there on the versions I created... Damn my firefox browser, not letting me add punctuation... just brings up Quick Links. Thats useless.
I would also like to add that I would agree with Xhonzi about the Jedi cover... they just werent retro-minded enough when doing their poster campaign. I am open to suggestions.

Mr underware is right. Silly cracked edition of imandix has a flaw of sorts, as does Firefox apparently, and IE over here. Move along;-)
I also didnt use Vincents latest ROTJ cover in that mock-up which looks better again.

I'm agreeing with you. I'm just thinking if Ady does go ahead and add a little movement, maybe it could also include a change of the color.

Another dead prop is... The snow!!! There's no snow in a hangar, whenever it is in Norway or in Groenland. :)

I have a suggestion.
It never sat right with me when Luke says "Father!" in the Falcon when Vader is calling to him. Shouldn't he still be in total shock and disbelief/denial?
I do agree TGI it is a bit odd of Luke, but I don't know how I feel about taking it out.

The debate is this: Does Luke figure it out in ESB or when Yoda tells him in RotJ?
In other words, is it important to have that "father" line in ESB because it confirms that. Or is it important to take it out and save it for when Yoda tells him in RotJ?
I think that line in Empire is incredibly good, and in retrospect it's really quite obvious that Vader really is Luke's father, and that Luke knows it. But back when those movies came out, it wasn't seen that way. Just as the "other" Yoda speaks of to Ben is clearly Leia, retrospectively, because she senses Luke calling for her and she rescues him. But again, the debate in fan magazines raged on for three years about those two questions.
So why remove them, just because you know the answers now?

I don't think there is a question, Luke knows in his gut in ESB, hence the line: "Search your feelings you know it to be true!" followed by "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!". The discussion with Yoda in RotJ was there to remind casual fans of what had happened.
IMO anyway.
