Screencaps of spelling mistakes.  Have we sunk this low?

The first post is in the process of being reformatted/rewritten based on my RotJ Wishlist.  Should be up shortly, so I wouldn't worry about anything it says right now.

Can we all just ignore Janskeet now? I mean really this is a person who so-called "joked" about being Ady's boss, and has since made useless questions about obvious changes without ever checking to see first... *sigh*

Next thing you know he's gonna question Ady as to why he transitioned form one dvd menu to the other or something just as useless. I think we've all been pretty nice to the guy but really at this point i'm pretty sure its the  "ignore button" ftw.

Yeah, the whole yellow/normal skin-color thing was the best thing about Vader's appearance in ESB - it actually made him look like a burn victim.  Yet another thing that was just forgotten in ROTJ when Luke took Vader's mask off.

Author
Time

^It's true. He was pale and had scars in ROTJ, but his skin is nice and normal-looking overall. I guess they wanted his face to be presentable. Haha. He was supposed to be burned so badly that even higher-than-ours technology, all the bacta in the galaxy, plastic surgery and force/Jedi/Sith healing may not have been enough. The point is, I don't know if even Dr. Crusher's instruments would clean him up completely. :p

Oh yeah, it's the Fine Molds Falcon Adywan is getting, right? Like this? (found the link earlier on, from a 005 post, I think it was) http://stardestroyerproject.com/FMFalcon.aspx

Lets just keep vader the way he is in them all. Make a point to say in ROTJ he was dying and people that are dying usually look colorless and pastey. Nobody said shit about how tom hulce looked when he was dying in amadeus (his death performance was perfect though they made him look DEAD) Its basically the same thing. I think that ROTJ was very undersaturated. The sabers were over coloured. But in a bad way. God why do i spell color like this colour (english influence maybe). Janskeet I am not going to push your ignore button yet. You have a basket of nit picky ideas that can be good. You pull some good stuff out of your goody bag just remember that adywan has more patience than anyone but tone down the spelling error things and dont argue.I was completely against the Lando death and he said it will happen so I went along with it. Plus anything to make Jedi a darker film is uber good. Damn that movie is so light hearted. A New Hope and Empire had more DEATH. Jedi should have been the darkest movie of the saga. But it was so happy. Ady please make this movie DARK.

I have ADD. I am like that dog that is in the UP movie. LOL

DO you have to build it when you get it? That is alot of work there.

Yes, it comes in 900 pieces, and he has to build it, paint it, weather it, and he wants to light it.  That's why he gave the release date of "2010".  He has the rest of this year and could take all of next year doing this. ;-)

I've always been very hesitant to use the ignore feature because I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt. But in this case, I'm afraid you're right. Janskeet, consider yourself ignored.

Interesting Picture.

Overall this guy has some neat sh*t. The lights are OK. I dont think the Star Destroyers need replacing. Of course ady might do something and blow our minds LOL

Thats why the idea of the eurotrip was better ;)

He could find ppl that have already the models and film them in their places.

Then he could make a MF model for his taste :)

900 PIECES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I gave up on a snap together 1970 chevelle model that had 20 pieces. LOL pre painted.

If I could I would help him with it. I will send him my old Falcon action figure toy LOL. it is a little too fat though.

That isnt mine exactly but it is close. Mine lights up and makes noises. But the back light is a sticker. It would be helpful LOL

Mine like most people that have the original molded ones is missing peaces. I had a han action figure that my friend stole in like 95. It was fun to play with. Now it is in my closet without a turret or a windsheild. I remember I saw a tiny RC r2d2 when i was like 7 and I asked for an R2D2 toy for christmas and Santa Clause AKA my parents bought me one but it wasnt the RC one it was just an action figure and I was pissed. I said it sucked. I wish I knew my parents got it for me I wouldnt have dissed it I would have said it was awesome. Sniff Sniff I love my parents

Ady how will you be achieving the Shield generator explosion

I'm pretty sure the neighbors wouldn't approve of shrapnel flying over their garden fence LOL, do you know anyone that could help out in this regard or will it all be done by Special effects

Ady I was curious to what you are doing for the large building behind the Falcon's Cloud city platform? TI'm talking about the tall building seen immediately before the falcon lands in the SE flythrough. It looks like that building is on the far right of your screenshots showing the Falcon on the platform. It's cool if you found a way to move it and keep the fly through.

well luckily the building behind the platform kinda looks like it could be the same level as the platform in the Se shot as it approaches the platform so for the landing shot i lowered the building so it fixed the continuity issues in all the other shots

i just watched fanboys. unless u like star wars, ur not gonna appreciate the humor. has a lot of classic characters from the movies.

carrie fisher is a doctor, the guy who plays lando, something reinholds, is a judge, william shatner makes an appearence with others.

the one part that made me laugh was when they meet a guy who has anakin and jar jar tatooed on his back the he says, "Yea, Jar Jar is gonna be the shit!"

not an awsome movie, but if u want a quick laugh, check it out.

i'm gutted that Fanboys isn't coming to the UK and no DVD release over here on the horizon. Luckily the writer of Fanboys, Ernie Cline, has kindly offered to send me a signed copy.

Ady, I'm curious, do you have any plans to address the issues with this sequence? I hate how the size differences between the Falcon and the SD are inconsistent between shots.

yeh, i'm hoping to sort out the scale issue as best as i can

vaderios said:

Ady, Considering the snowstorm tauntaun should not cast hard shadows. Even better not at all.

Han's shadow is animated too.

i will be doing something to this shot

Sevb32 said:

Ady do you have the "Art of SW the Empire Strikes Back" book? It has blueprints of the Hoth Base. There are only three alcoves on the right side (As you are facing from the outside looking in) and four on the left side.

thanks for your email Sevb32. yes i do have the art of ESB. The blueprints are for the studio set. it does seem that the hangar is supposed to be a lot deeper than they were able to do on a set though. There's only one shot we see from the exterior that shows the true scale so should be an easy fix. (famous last words)

Glad to see things worked themselves out. Thanks a lot Sketchrob!

Though I am curious as to what sequence(s) the falcon model is actually needed for. I assume the shots in question are fairly vital to the edit, as Adywan is going through considerable trouble to aquire the material he needs for them. Ady is re-shooting the asteroid canyon scene...and what else?

not only is it needed for the new hangar set but also there are a few shots throughout the movie where the falcon needs replacing, but it will be used a lot more in ROTJ:R

Ady, Could you reinsert the original "The first transport is away line" the new one sounds to much like my 9th grade science teacher. I always cringe when I hear it I do not know why.

i'll be checking all the various available mixes to use when i get to the audio stage.

Watch the trailer, dude.  The entire conversation is heard, played throughout the trailer.

Are you just assuming that, or did Adywan actually confirm that? I saw the trailer but the edit doesn't come out until next year and even though he used that dalogue in the trailer, it doesn't mean it is going in the final edit.

yes i did confirm it which you would have known if you had read the thread like i suggested.

Janskeet said:

I noticed in this frame the colour suddently jumps brighter for like 2 or 3 frames and then goes back to its consistent colour tone used throughout. Adywan, I'm sure you picked this up in colour correction?

Adywan, were you going to do anything about Vader's inconsistent skin tone on the back of his head? As you can see on the right his skin is much more yellow than the left:

I found a spelling error:

1. this has already been fixed in the colour correction stage

2. nothing wrong with the skin tone at all. in fact its a lot more realistic than his skin when we see him unmasked in ROTJ

Janskeet , you have ignored every suggestion i have made to you to read the entire thread, yet you still ask questions that have been asked and fully answered many times, then question people who have bothered to read the thread when they give you the answer. peoples patience can only go so far. pointing out spelling mistakes in someone's post has sunk you to a new low. maybe you should check your own spelling before criticizing someone else's, as Ripplin pointed out. my patience, i'm afraid,  has run out. you may now become only the second person to have been put on my ignore list.

if you can't be bothered to read the thread then please don't be surprised when no none answers your questions that have already been answered.

6 part tutorial on building the FM Falcon

It's a Japanese TV show, but modeling is universal, so you can still follow it even if you don't read or speak Japanese.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.
