The project was made at 720p, we’re not getting it in any higher resolution. Higher bitrate is what the hope is for a second MKV release, and possibly even BR compatibility for anyone who would want to make their own barebones ISO out of it.

I mean, anyone could do that if they want to have 90% of the shots in 720p and the rest in 4K.

Forget my stupid question. With such a high bit rate, there is no difference between medium and very slow presets.
Adywan, you can make available in a.b.starwars regrade of Episode V (not Revisited)?

I believe we as a forum voted against the breath since it wasn’t really worth the time it would take for Ady to do it. Same idea with the glowing.

I wasn’t around for a majority of the discussions of ESB:R while it was being made so whatever the reason for it was please clarify it for me. A better explanation might make me recant that previous statement.

It boiled down to it being too much work for an effect that wasn’t entirely convincing all the time, in both cases (especially the icy breath one). Less that it would take too long to do and more that no matter how many different ways it was tried, it always looked at least slightly “off.”

Hey, so I tried upscaling ESB:R to 4K. I denoised, upscaled, and regrained the footage all in After Effects.

Honestly, I still have to mess around with the denoising and regraining, both of which might be overdone.
So essentially it’s very much a work in progress, but I’m using the same techniques here as I have for my PT regrades.
