Adywan can’t make alternate cuts for every whim. This is why he’s making a fan edit, and how YOU TOO can make a fan edit. 😉
Is You_Too aware of this?
JEDIT: Dammit.

Adywan has it. You have that power too.
Let it in
Let it go

Different voice tone, and Mask, and Chest plate for that matter… Only thing worth keeping consistent is the tint of Vader’s eyes. Almost impossible to fix the other stuff…
But why try to “fix” any of it? So his suit changes between films. It doesn’t break continuity for Vader to get upgrades.
I think it’s okay to manipulate some aspects of the performance to make the jump from shouty enforcer Vader to no-nonsense leader Vader less jarring and make the earlier iteration of the costume more in line with all the others as long as it’s subtle. You can still have the suit evolve without leaving the older versions looking unfinished in relation to the later ones. This is a special edition not a preservation of every aspect of the original film.
I may add this is the ESB:R thread and not the ANH:R thread so maybe the conversation should shift to there.

Just the red eyes in IV and in Rebels. If you look at at the movies from a trilogy point of view, there is a continuity irritation with some fans. If you just Watched Star Wars IV and never saw the other ones, well then there are no issues.

I wonder how many people even noticed – let alone complained about – Vader’s red eyes back in the good ol’ days. Seems like something most people only took notice of after the popularization of the Internet.
Wow, that Han in carbonite is looking amazing.

Has any thought been given for what the official cover art will be ?
I’ve been seeing some of these fanmade ones around

Adywan will be painting his own official cover art, as he did with A New Hope, I believe.

So…not to pull a Ronster but I’ve been dying to bring this up for quite some time now.
Adywan, I was wondering if you’ve considered introducing a slight pulsation to the lightsaber blades?
As I’m sure you’re aware the prequel lightsaber blades were pretty uniform glowsticks. Whereas the OT blades, having been rotoscoped by hand have this certain unique living feel to them. Especially in Star Wars(1977).
Starting with Star Wars Rebels Lucasfilm introduced a new stylistic change to their depiction of blades that’s more true to the original film. Here’s a Youtube video where they discuss how they achieved the effect.
It seems they’re continuing similarly to that trend in the new film. Here’s a new commercial that features pulsating lightsaber blades akin to the OT style.
I think it’s a great effect that adds some unique feeling of authenticity to them.
From what I understand of your schedule, if you’re still held up by waiting to film additional elements. Now would be the perfect time to introduce this to the edit if you haven’t considered it already. Similarly because following this you could then introduce it to SW:RHD and the rest of the Revisited saga.
Anyway, that’s my two cents. Thanks for your time! =)

I think it was adywan that said “Not adding anything just because its in the Expanded Universe. The EU doesn’t exist for the purposes of this edit.”
Well technically neither Rebels or the Force Awakens are EU 😉
I agree that a slight pulsating effect to the sabers might make them look a little less digital and a little more organic. Perhaps a little more understated than in Rebels or that commercial.

Just so you know I have finished looking at it. I have most the answers I was looking for.
The last few things just came really quickly together. It’s like when you only have a few pieces left in a jigsaw puzzle and they all go in very quickly. At the start it is slow going.
My personal Journey on studying the film has come to an end.

The blades in ESB:R already have a pulsating effect that can be seen in this video
Fantastic! =D

Which is completely irrelevant to what was asked…and answered, btw.

Due to one of the health problems i have, it is now impossible for me to paint any more of the covers for Revisited. Unfortunately drawing and painting is something i have had to accept that i will probably never be able to do again

I’m very sorry to hear about this. I hope it won’t restrict any other talents or your well-being.
