As far as we can gather, the 97 SE was scanned at 1080p (the same resolution Episodes 2 & 3 were recorded at) and further modified at that resolution into what was put on DVD and shown on HDTV. That 1080p master was again used for the Blu-ray, uncompressed, but still bearing a lot of the problems the DVD apparently had at its source.

   I knew they used the negative film cells fort the SE, but never Knew they where scanned at 1080p.

Ok guys, i've been quiet lately due to the fact that my internet sucks. had little or no connection for days now and i'm having to use a pre-pay mobile internet dongle, which give you no internet time at all. General question.  Does anyone know if the MKV version will be below 4gb (in order to avoid incompatibility issues with FAT32-formatted systems)?  I've read that it will be 720p, but of high bitrate.

It will be well over 4GB, let me assure you.

The source files, like his editing timeline and all of his elements? I'm sure that's prohibitively huge to be released. I'm not sure if Ady has the hard drives to keep them around though once he's done.

Talk to Ady, I'm sure he'd be willing to accept it as a donation.

I believe he once said he was going to keep all the files. I doubt he'd release them though.

That's one way of interpreting it. I used to get upset at people replacing the opening credits with their own, but we may have to! ;-)

Why?  There are plenty of 720p MKV BD rips available of the SW movies that are well below 4gb.  So, I think it was a valid question.

The SOPA bill had a provision where the U.S. could extradite anyone in a foreign country guilty of copyright infringement. The U.S. would be allowed to send in the troops to other countries to arrest you, bring you to the U.S, and put you in jail. This PIPA bill has the same thing if I'm not mistaken. The PIPA bill is the SENATES version on SOPA.
