ImgBurn is freeware. You can download it. What format is the file you're trying to burn?
Nevermind, I got it solved now ^^
*immitating commercial annoucer* We now return to discussions on ANH:R
ImgBurn is no longer "freeware" in the strictest sense - the latest version is actually "foistware" (it comes bundled with the Ask Toolbar).
But this discussion belongs in the How-To's and Technical Discussions forum.

ImgBurn is still fully free. I just installed the latest version. It only installs the Ask toolbar if you mindlessly "next>next>next" your way thru the installation wizard. If you take your time, you can un-check the option to install the Ask toolbar.
My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.
I'm new here. Can someone pm me and help me understand how I can enjoy ANH:R? After a few days on here, I can't seem to interpret how to get my own copy of this in all its glory.

yeah, same here. Though I admit I haven't read all 329 pages yet!
Google adywan and you should find what you seek. Also the .info of fanedit is valuable.

I'm pretty sure you can link to the fanedit.org page double.
Also, I re-uploaded it on my YouTube account in HD.
At the risk of being that guy, I was watching ANH:R for the fourth time last night, and noticed that in the first shot of C3PO on Tantive IV, his lower right leg is silver instead of gold. Has this been addressed?
Addressed as in "his leg is supposed to be silver throughout the movie and is in several action figures?" Not a mistake my friend, just something you never noticed. More of the "used universe" details.

EDIT: 005 beat me to it.
I'll chalk this up to Adywan's color correction revealing things that were less visible in the 2004 version.
Your'e having a laugh! right?
His leg is silver throughout the trilogy

It's just one of those things I never noticed. I grew up in the late 1980s watching Star Wars in a top-loading VCR, recorded from ABC (I think) broadcasts (commercials intact), displayed on a fuzzy TV with dials, in its own cabinet and speakers, that sat on the carpet. I saw the VHS and DVD special editions a couple times, but was so disappointed with some of the changes that I never bought either, and didn't watch much Star Wars until the prequels disappointed me and I went back and watched the original trilogy and was reminded of just how good they are once you look past the questionable revisions. Then I found this place a few years ago, and fan-edits like this one restored my memories, and in some cases improved upon them, like noticing for the first time that Threepio's right leg is silver throughout the trilogy!
Or maybe I'm just dense. ;)
Oh, it's definitely something that a lot of people don't notice right away. I think I probably noticed it in the storybooks before I did in the movies.
Wow. Where to start? How do I begin to write a review on an experience that has given me a feeling I haven't had since I was a child. Watching Adywan's edit I felt like I was seeing Episode IV for the first time. This was the first Fan Edit I've seen, and I can easily say that Adywan has gotten me hooked.
First off, Adywan has done a masterful job of color correction. My jaw dropped in the first 5 minutes, and stayed there until the lights came on. Really, there are just so many things that I loved about this edit that I can't list them all. I'll just highlight a few of my favorite parts;
The Cantina scene. Amazing, well done really. It really captured the feel of the Cantina that I think other edits are missing.
The Greedo scene was awesome. At that point I was just juiced because I knew I was in for a treat.
I loved the shots of the Death Star with the planets.
Adding the wormhole in the falcon's cockpit was a touch of genius!
The final battle was just simply fan-f*%#@!g-tastic. I'm running out of adjectives here, this edit is so good.
And the fact that Chewie gets a medal? Priceless. Adywan has thought of everything.
I'm so very happy that this was the first Fan Edit I saw. I can't say enough. But I can sum it all up;
This is THE definitive version of Star Wars Episode IV. WATCH THIS MOVIE!!
Thank you Adywan, for such an entertaining experience. Your hard work is an inspiration to us all. Please edit Empire Strikes Back!
You're in luck!

I'm gonna up the NTSC version of ANH Revisited to alt.binaries.starwars and alt.binaries.dvd over the next few hours for anyone who is interested. If you are looking to get a copy of this bad boy this is the way to go.
First off, fantastic fantastic work. Really amazing, and I've not even finished watching yet! The world owes you a debt Adywan. Thank you for your work.
Secondly, two questions:
Recently grabbed the rapidshare iso of the NTSC DVD9 version linked on the .info site, and am wondering if this version is "patched". I've seen some talk in the thread though searching about problems with layer breaks etc, and am wondering if this version has it. I am getting a message when burning with ImgBurn that "This image has not been mastered correctly for burning onto a double layer (OTP Track Path) disc". There was no .mds file included in that rapidshare download.
I clicked continue, and it seemed to burn just fine, but I gave that burn to a friend before I started searching for info on that problem. He's not watched it yet, so I'm not sure if there is any problem with the layer switch.
I did see in this thread that some folks who just bypassed that message got the layer break in the right place, so I think I should be OK, but just want to verify.
Also, if someone could point me to the (DVD5 NTSC) purist edition, I'd apprciate it.
I'm new here but could you point me in the direction to alt.binaries.starwars? I would love to get a hold of the NTSC DVD9 version. I got an ISO copy from a torrent site but get errors when I try to burn it. Hopefully this will be easier. The Xvid versions works fine. Ady did a great job on ANH. I love it!
I don't see how you can't find it, if you know the group; nonetheless, PM sent.
Thanks man! PM sent back.
I downloaded the NTSC purist version from rapidshare overnight, but the link for the Part 14 RAR is broken. Can anyone help me in locating it?

I received a copy of this probably a year and half ago from someone here who was kind enough to give me one at the time. A couple weeks ago I passed it off to a friend so he could have it, so I found it on rapidshare and downloaded it so I could have it too. I downloaded the ntsc dvd9 revisited version and when I hit the write button in imgburn, a prompt comes up saying...
Optimal L1 Data Zone Start LBA:None found!(VTS_51) This image has not been mastered correctly for burning onto double layer(OTP Track Path)disc. None of the cells meet the 'DVD-Video specifications' criteria for a potential layer break position. Do you want to continue anyways?
Didn't know what that was about but I pressed 'yes' and it burned with no problems. I watched it in full today and noticed that the layer break was in a different place then the copy I received before. The layer change on my previous copy was just as Vader was heading toward the Falcon in the hanger bay. The copy that I downloaded, the layer break was just after Tarken says to terminate Leia. Just wondering if there was a reason for this switch or whatever. Whatever the case, either is better then the horrible official dvds. The movie looks good and everything, so yeah. :)
any links for this guys ?
