I shall endeavor to be patient. And I'd be happy to help with the US PIF chain, so sign me up for that.

I can burn dvd's so I can PIF. So if Ady sends it to me I can froward a bunch to others.

I can also burn DVDs--both DVD5 and DVD9--but what is a PIF? I am not familiar with that term within this context, and I don't want to be left out of the mix, as I am currently outside of North America.

I can only make an educated guess...

A. Pay It Forward method
B. Potentially Illegal File(s)
C. A popular document encoding format

I currently can only burn DVD5 but I don't mind getting involved with the PIF

Anti-Matter... PIF, I believe, corresponds to your first guess: (Pay It Forward)

What's the likelihood of this finding its way into a torrent? That's been my main means of obtaining edits thus far.

Also, I am competely in the dark about how to use usenet to obtain edits... any threads or sites on the net someone could direct me to so I can learn more about this?

I can help with the U.S. chain, as well (I can burn both DVD-5 and DVD-9 discs), and I'd also be up for helping to seed a torrent -- especially after the end of January, when I'll be back at a fast internet connection.

Congratulations on reaching this milestone, Adywan! I guess all of us had better get to work on our DVD covers!

Take care,
Sojourn

P.S. Anti-Matter -- I believe you're referring to P D F in #3, right? Not P I F?

I said I could only do DVD5, but by Oni Won Kanuti i'm gonna buy a new burnor!! I reacon this is a big enough reason to make a purchase, Adywan i'll burn some. (sorry the Tramadol makes me do it!!!, i'm not meself!!, i'm a bit blurry round the outside) In all seriousness I think this is a marvelous project and I would love to get involved in the distribution of your work, J.

Sorry I,m on again. Just an idea, probably someone's already typed it, but there could be enough footage of Temuera Morrison in AOC to use in a newly edited Empire for the 'Wee'll just float away with the rest of the garbage' Boba Fett bit. In AOC Jango never wore 'is 'elmit whilst flying around 'is asteroids! why should his geneticaly engineered one sperm son?

Just a fout!! J

I like your fervor Jaitea, but part of the joy of the original Fett is his mystery. Ady has been very minimal in his allowance of "intrusion" of PT-related material into the original trilogy and for good reason - I have spoken with Ady and I know his overall intent is to mesh the PT and OT much better, but Ady has also found a way to walk the tenuous balance between pleasing PT fans and pleasing PT-haters with these OT edits. He has done this through incorporation of landscapes and objects in the background (and in some cases subtle foregrounds) that are from the PT, but nothing that would directly come from the PT so overtly. I agree with this philosophy as it nods to the PT while refusing to compromise or potentially affect adversely the originally established mythos.

Although I cannot speak for Ady as I am not him nor his spokesperson, I recall a mention somewhere in the many posts here that Ady planned on restoring Jason Wingreen's sinister (and superior) voice to Boba Fett - another move I support as Morrison's line deliveries for Fett were phoned in and yawn inducing. But, all this talk of the possible ESB Revisited is probably best left to another thread entirely.

I could help PIF, but only with NTSC (once I buy some dual layers I could handle the dvd9!).

I completely agree with nohandluke's view on mystery of Bobba Fett. It is totally unnecessary to bring in his face from PT into OT. I also don't like Morrison's voice that much, but it is not that important to me. Some of you are distracted or even agitated by it, but I'm not. In the end, it will be Adywan's decision. By now I'm confident he will do all 6 movies well, in the sense that he will improve both OT and and make PT suck less.

As for the his upcoming edit, I do hope someone will seed a torrent as soon as possible. It tried playing around with newsgorups, got myself Alt.Binz for geting .nzb files, and then GrabIt for using those nzb files to download binaries, but so far it hasn't worked. The download is always stuck at 0%. I guess the reason is I should be subscribed to an Usenet account, not use the free Usenet servers found on the net. If someone could clarify this for me I'd be very grateful.

i go for "usenetserver" as the downloads are unlimited
if you're not bothered by that "easynews" is better for browsing and couple of quid cheaper and actually a bit faster
both can self generate nzb's

go for it

Wow, 5 versions, thats pretty impressive Ady! I would still like to see a DTS ( 1.6 mbps ) only version up there also if it's possible.

Teharri, if Adywan has kept any surprises secret until now (and I'm sure there are more than a few), he won't reveal them now. What would be the point. You will discover them while watching

We don't expect Ady to reveal what they are, we are just wondering if there are things he's done that he didn't tell us about.

Well i can tell you a few of the surprises lined up which i think will help the PT & OT feel more a part of the same saga..

3PO & R2 have a moment of slapstick that pays homage to the Three Stooges
When the gang approach the cantina Luke now steps in a pile of Dewbak poo
The bartender has now been replaced with Jar Jar Binks so prepare for some amazing humorous moments.
Replaced all the stormtroopers voices with that of Temuera Morrison.
& During the Falcon/TIE battle a few TIEs now release some Buzz droids that begin to attack the Falcon.........

........ as if!!!!

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!

Have you heard the accent of the Barman of the Cantina in the 'Behind the Magic' CD's?, weird to hear it in a London twang, also the human threatening Luke.

I know this is probably in the wrong thread, but a thing that really pisses me off that nobody seems to mention is the awefull hairpiece that Ewan McGreggor wears in Episode 1 for the pick-up shots. It just jumps out of the screen like a Russ Abbott-See you Jimmy wig. I'm sure Adywan can think of a way to fix these shots. I know that that will be probably a long way off. Let me know if this has pissed anyone else off!!

Thanks, J

Ewan's inconsistent haircut doesn't bother me as much as the flipped shot of him speaking with Qui-Gon just before the latter goes back for Anakin. Unlike other flipped shots in the saga, this one just pops out at me because of Ewan's braid being on the wrong side.
