The Paxton is an Apollo 13 image, and the Kingsley is from Sneakers...anyone recognise the Abraham or Hamil shots? :)
I got just the DVD of Slipstream (P&S, bad quality DVD-what can you do) and the cover image is HORRIBLE:
I’m wondering if anybody has a higher rez version of this illustration that I can print out and slip into the front of the DVD case?
I’ve done some searching on the net but so far I haven’t found anything.
Thanks! 😃
Where were you in '77?

This movie was released in 70mm blow up and had a six track mix. Produced by Gary Kurtz. One of the biggest flops in the history of the movies, even for a low budget flick its considered a disaster.
Basically tries to tell the same story according to critics as blade runner and blade runner did it better.
As for what darkgryphon had to say the 5.1 could be authentic if it was a remix of the six track and not a cooked up 5.1 from a stereo source like a lot of bargain basement dvds.

There was an absolutely beautiful painting commissioned for Slipstream that would be terrific to track down. I recall it being printed as a two-page spread in a magazine like Starlog or Future. At the time, I remember it being one of the most stunning pieces of artwork I had ever seen.
This Japanese movie ticket looks cool:

Was it like this image?
I doubt it seeing as that has already been posted by Moth3r and yourself in the thread opener.
I've been trying to find the painting on the Japanese cinema ticket but it's sort of dropped off the map.
I could turn this into a dvd cover:
I happen to be a fan of the film. I discovered it on video years ago. A guilty pleasure to be sure.

Similar, of two planes/aircraft flying through a canyon, but I remember the action being right-to-left instead of left-to-right or head-on. The Japanese ticket that was posted in here conveys a better representation of what I remember, but that still isn't it.
Unfortunately, at one point, I had the issue of Starlog or Future in which it was printed, but got rid of my collection some years ago. It also could've been in Omni.
This is one of those memories in which the impact of the emotion remains strong, but not the actual imagery. Very maddening, in a way.

too bad no one is offering the japan laserdisc rip for free. there is a guy selling them at his site, bootlegs for sale is a no no especially here on these forums.
I refuse to pay money for something that should be shared with fans for free, or with just blanks and postage costs.
People who sell these preservations are the ones who will eventually get people in trouble who do it for love and make no profit.
supposedly this film was shot 2:35:1 anamorphic and even had a 70mm release with six track sound.
all you get on the dvd is a vhs quality fullscreen rip with a tame dolby 2.0.
the uk release has better cover art very much like the laserdisc cover, you can find it on amazons uk site but not in high res.
I like this movie i have it on vhs, Mark Hamill is awesome in this movie.
I also have the time runner vhs and wonder why there is no dvd.
I have a rip of that Laserdisc (and it is in 2:35:1), however, it has japanese subs over the image and it needs color correction. Would anyone be interested using this and commiting to a preservation project? I don't have the time to do it myself.
