Request: VHS PAL Capturer wanted.

I was looking to do a preservation of a VHS that hasn't made it's way to DVD yet (and may not for legal reasons).

I was going to use a NTSC sourced tape but the master was likely 25 frame PAL. To make matters worse the U.S. version is significantly shorter than the U.K. release.

So what I'd like to do is pick up a PAL copy on ebay if I can find someone to do the capture for me. The tapes are cheap, but I can't see spending the money for a PAL VCR for a single use.

Anyone (preferably U.S. for shipping cost reasons) able to accomodate?

What's the project?

I've got a PAL VCR and could capture it, I'm in Australia though.

Ooh, a laserdisc. The Cheat's playin' something on a laserdisc.
Everything is better on a laserdisc. Whatever happened to the laserdisc? Laserdisc!

Australia shipping 2-ways might be more expensive than a cheap PAL VCR.

Heh, so either there's little traffic through these parts of the Forums or no one is interested in Riverdance.

My mum likes Riverdance. In fact, she might even have that tape - I'll ask.

I was really surprised to find out the UK version is 98 minutes and the U.S. 71m.

Like I said, there's a good chance this won't make it to DVD so a preservation project isn't completely crazy.

I'm in the UK and have been doing VHS to DVD conversions loads recently.. I'll be more than willing to get this onto disc for you. I can encode to NTSC too.
