Well, it would be a dangerous way to project a movie, as the lasers are powerful enough to ionize the air. It would also smell like ozone, from what I've read. But if it was in a transparent container like in the first video, it could work.

I think yous guys are getting me wrong. The way I see it one day this method although in its infancy now, may be able to yield a free floating 3d picture ie: No stereoscopic method needed. It would be more like the holo deck in Star Trek. It would look totally natural and real. The problems it gives now eventually will be worked out, I'm totally sure!
Remember how bad LCD and PLasma tvs were when they first came out, crt was amazingly bad when first invented. The pictures were awful, the sets were huge, no colour! But in the big scheme of things it hasnt took that long to get were we are now. 8k, yes 8K displays with colours and depth to die for, Tv's as thin as a pain of glass!
I for one cant wait to sit in the Tantive's corridor, laser blasts left and right and then Vader strolls through that door way :-)
