Ranking the Star Wars TV series

A bit like LuckyGungan2001’s Ranking the Star Wars films thread, but this one is just for ranking the Star Wars TV series.

Mine are:

  1. Andor
  2. The Mandalorian
  3. Visions
  4. Rebels
  5. Clone Wars (2003 Genndy Tartakovsky micro-series)
  6. The Bad Batch
  7. Tales Of The Jedi
  8. The Clone Wars (2008)
  9. Obi Wan Kenobi
  10. Droids (1985)
  11. The Book Of Boba Fett
  12. Ewoks (1985)
  13. Resistance (2018)

It could be interesting to see how these rankings change with more Star Wars series being released soon. And also if some of the current series start to improve further, or maybe even start to underwhelm. Or that our rankings just change over time?

You don’t have to include any of the series you haven’t seen. Or include the various Lego series, Forces Of Destiny, or Galaxy Of Adventures in the rankings, unless you are truly hardcore!

I shall use the ranking system of Watched, Mostly Watched, Briefly Watched, and Not Watched:

Watched:
Andor
The Mandalorian
The Book Of Boba Fett
Obi Wan Kenobi
Rebels

Mostly Watched:
Visions
The Clone Wars (2008)

Briefly Watched:
Clone Wars (2003 Genndy Tartakovsky micro-series)
The Bad Batch
Droids (1985)

Not Watched:
Tales Of The Jedi
Ewoks (1985)
Resistance (2018)

This does not necessarily equate to how I would rank the shows if I fully watched them all, for example Book of Boba Fett would be significantly lower in rank than most shows. The only show I would unequivocally recommend right now is Andor.

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
Episode 9 Rewrite, The Starlight Project (Released!) and ANH Technicolor Project (Released!)

  1. Andor (So far. Only seen the first 3 episodes, as of now.)
  2. Clone Wars 2003
  3. Mandalorian
  4. Obi-Wan Kenobi
  5. Book of Boba Fett

Haven’t seen any of the other stuff.

But we can’t turn back. Fear is their greatest defense. I doubt if the actual security there is any greater than it was on Aquilae or Sullust. And what there is is most likely directed towards a large-scale assault.

So…

  1. Andor
  2. Clone Wars 2003
  3. The Clone Wars
  4. The Mandalorian
  5. Rebels
  6. The Book of Boba Fett
  7. Obi-Wan Kenobi

Haven’t seen any of the other stuff, and I’m not even interested in doing so. To be honest, I’m not even interested in watching the third season of The Mandalorian. Also, the only series I include in my personal Canon is Clone Wars 2003. I take all the other series as fun things to watch, but disconnected from the main universe.

  1. Andor
  2. Visions
  3. Rebels
  4. The Mandalorian
  5. Clone Wars - 2003
  6. Bad Batch
  7. Tales of the Jedi
  8. Obi Wan Kenobi
  9. The Clone Wars - 2008
  10. Book of Boba Fett
  11. Droids
  12. Resistance
  13. Ewoks

I may split the Mandalorian into seasons in the future. Season 1 was so very good, refreshing and welcome. Season 2 was good, but it left me cold with too much fan service, cameos, and overall lack of quality. Season 3’s opener today left me empty, I’ll have to watch it again as it felt so lacking and predictable, so it was probably just me.

The Imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear.

I’ve not seen all Star Wars TV series, but here is my ranking:

  1. Andor
  2. The Mandalorian
  3. Clone Wars 2003
  4. The Book Of Boba Fett
  5. Visions
  6. Obi Wan Kenobi

  1. Andor
  2. Rebels
  3. The Clone Wars
  4. The Mandalorian
  5. The Bad Batch
  6. Visions
  7. Tales of the Jedi
  8. Obi-wan Kenobi
  9. The Book of Boba Fett

Haven’t seen all of the others yet

Visions is kind of weird to rank because I absolutely love the premise of the series and the creativity seen in all of the shorts, but because they’re shorts, it’s harder for the series as a whole to really stick with me. Loved The Ninth Jedi though, that’s a classic.

From what I’ve watched…

  6. Obi-Wan Kenobi
  7. The Book Of Boba Fett
  8. Ewoks
  9. The Clone Wars (watched only maybe 2 seasons and I don’t remember any of it)
