Got a Vizio D55un-E1 (55"). I’ve had good experiences in the past with Vizios (good balance between quality and price) so that was pretty much the only thing I was looking at. Wanted to get something in the high 40" to low 50" range. Was originally going to get just HD, but at $398, it was easily the best price for the size even if it was HD, the 4K was basically an added bonus.
The bitch about the 4K though is if I want to utilize it, I’ll need to spend more money, but I don’t think the offerings are enough at this point to make it worth it. Netflix has 4K but it costs more, HBO doesn’t have it, Amazon Prime does - but it’s not a smart TV (which for the most part isn’t a problem since I have an Xbox) so I’d need to get a Roku or something. And even then I’m not sure if my internet can handle it.
At some point I’ll make the 4K blu-ray leap, but at this time I don’t think the price is worth it. There’s a threshold for what the human eye perceives.
