Suicide Squad is getting panned and hearing that made my day.
I’m glad someone finally admitted that they want certain movies to fail.
Well, yes. I hate the “2edgy4u” direction DC’s films are going in under the Dark Lord Snyder, and the sooner it fails, the sooner they have to reboot it all and hopefully not be embarrassed by the comic source material.
The edginess doesn’t bother me because for one they have to tonally differentiate themselves from Marvel. Secondly, if the writing is good it wouldn’t matter if it were dark or was even more lighthearted than Marvel films. I definitely agree with Dark Lord Dudebrah. After BvS it’s almost like jumping into a cauldron of magma to hire him again but if anything DC needs some new people making the executive decisions. They are the root of the issue.

Especially in the home release market. Haven’t actually looked up the numbers, but I’ve seen pictures of proud Snyder fans with several copies (the regular Blu, the steelbook, the other steelbook, the 4k, the 3d, the Target exclusives, the Amazon exclusives, etc.) which is insane no matter what movie it is.

I saw the trashiest truck on the way home from the store. It was a big black Ford with testicles dangling from the back bumper. There was a sticker on the back window that had someone humping the word “you”, which I guess was supposed to mean “fuck you.” There was also a “real men lick pussy” sticker right next to it. And to top it all off there was this picture;

Critical reaction is important. If people hear a movie isn’t good, they honestly won’t go see it. Obviously with massive properties like Batman and Superman it’ll still make money but the numbers drop off quickly and they aren’t making nearly as much as they could.
The other problem is sequels. If they’re trying to build a universe and everyone thinks their movies are shit, people will stop coming and they will get some legit flops.

You’re probably right. I think that Batman vs. Superman could’ve literally gotten a zero percent on Rotten Tomatoes and it still would’ve made about as much money as it did. People want to see “Batman vs. Superman”, no matter what actually shows up on screen. Will the same happen for Superman 3: Superman Goes to China? Probably not, especially if it’s terrible.
