What Movie/TV Show is this?

Just been thinking about old TV shows and movies I have vague memories of, but can't remember any names of; so I thought I'd start a thread for everyone to ask others what those shows are that bug you at odd hours of the night!

I'll just start with two requests, don't want to flood a thread too early! Both of which I can't remember if I actually enjoyed!

First, a movie. An '80s fantasy movie, featuring a group of adventurers that end up having to climb a huge tower (or cliff). In it was a tiger (possibly white) that was really a transformed princess or prince or villian. Earlier in the movie the group meets a cyclops, who they initially fight, but then joins the group. For some reason I used to think it was The Princess Bride, which it obviously is not!

Next, a kids TV show, which I'm guessing was British and from the early '90s. I only thought of it because I read a thread elsewhere asking for another TV show called 'The Odyssey', but I don't think I'd ever seen that one, doesn't ring any bells anyway. Anyway, back to the show I'm thinking of. It ran for a few seasons, and I think a character was called Teabag. In fact most of the characters (or maybe only baddies) started with T. I think the main character had to collect letters (like Ts) or keys or something. I think the main baddie was a woman. There may have been a cat character too, though I'm probably just thinking of Sabrina now!

Anyone else need help with odd memories?

Ooh, a laserdisc. The Cheat's playin' something on a laserdisc.
Everything is better on a laserdisc. Whatever happened to the laserdisc? Laserdisc!

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say Krull for this one. Featuring none other than Liam Neeson.

The show you are referencing is most likely T-Bag. Undoubtedly this sort of titling scheme would never fly in modern day America, but leave it to the Brits to do something like this.
For as much as some people claim to hate what Star Wars has become, they sure seem incapable of shutting up about it.

The woman who played the original T-Bag now appears in Emmerdale as Diane Blackstock.

(I still can't take Coronation Street seriously because it features Miss Popov from Rentaghost.)

Well, that was quick! I was sure the movie was going to be easy for others (even with my very muddy description!), but I didn't think the TV series would be answered so fast, all in the first post; great! Now to find a copy and make a fan-edit featuring a cat sidekick so I can relive my 'memories'!

Now, I've forgotten what other shows I wanted names to; so I'll just have to try help others.

Wow, in the first couple of sentences you wrote, I was leaning toward The Princess Bride, too, until, obviously, it wasn't.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Yup, Teabag - I used to watch it as a kid. Weird show.

War does not make one great.

Same. I think I kinda liked it. But there were so many reruns, I got frustrated that she never finished collecting whatever she was collecting at the time (letters, keys, etc.). And I could never figure out whether or not the boy with the cap was a bad guy or a good guy (he was the evil woman's sidekick, but he often helped the protagonist).
MTFBWY. Always.

Ah, good old Krull. One of the better Star Wars rip-offs, but not by much. Interestingly, the original working title was Dungeons & Dragons, which later became Dungeons of Krull, Dragons of Krull, Krull: Invaders of the Black Fortress, and then eventually just Krull. On a personal note, I first saw Krull about five years after it came out when we inherieted a bunch of video tapes with stuff recorded on them. Whoever we got it from must've taped it off HBO or something like that. However, the begining was taped over by,... whatever was before it. So I started seeing the movie from when Obi Wan (or whoever that old guy was) was patching up the prince guy after the big battle where his father was killed and his bride was kidnapped. Which means I missed a bunch of set-up stuff, most importantly the wedding scene where the magical fire or whatever was part of the ritual. ***SPOILERS AFTER THIS*** This means that at the end of the movie when they recite the marriage ritual again and she goes "take the fire from my hand" it was like coming from out of nowhere. Almost like how early Superman would develop convenient powers when he needed them***END SPOILERS*** In the end it's not a horrible movie, but it is rather contrived, like how the Dark Crystal was contrived. the plot moved along with what seemed to be a purpose of showing this or that neat effect vs. feeling real and true in the story. You know, unlike Star Wars. It has some IITS moments is what I mean.

I once saw a movie on PBS that looked like it was made in the 80s but I missed the first half hour so I have no idea what it is called.

Any way it was some sort of crime thriller type movie that was set in Russia and I think in the end the big plot had to do with sneaking furs out of the country or something.

I saw this film once when i was a kid and I would like to see if I can track down a copy because i remember it being pretty good.

If anyone here has any idea what movie this was I would be grateful for the help.

Yeah, but this one actually makes sense.  I'm assuming he has a question about a movie he wants someone to give him the name of?

Sounds to me like he's thinking of Krull 2 - The Kingdom of the Pilfered Stole aka Krull Takes the Kremlin.

And I do, I just described one.  I found the rest of the old threads while looking through the forum to see if there was already a thread like this before I created a new one.

And yet you bumped an old Doctor Who thread despite the current and very active one being pretty much right in your face.

Well that was just for fun.

You know like the kind you have when you go all grammar Nazi on people and mock the subject of a thread.
