It’s weird that Ivanka and Jared would be the only wife and partner at a wives and partners dinner, and it’s even weirder that they would sit on opposite sides of the table since it was for wives and partners, and furthermore it’s crazy weird that a story about the meeting would post the seating chart for the dinner rather than the meeting…but politics sure is weird!

A U.S. judge on Friday temporarily blocked President Donald Trump’s ban on travelers and immigrants from seven predominantly Muslim countries after Washington state and Minnesota urged a nationwide hold on the executive order that has launched legal battles across the country.
State Attorney General Bob Ferguson said this week that the travel ban significantly harms residents and effectively mandates discrimination. Minnesota joined the suit two days later.
After the ruling, Ferguson said people from the affected countries can now apply for entry to the U.S.
“Judge Robart’s decision, effective immediately … puts a halt to President Trump’s unconstitutional and unlawful executive order,” Ferguson said. “The law is a powerful thing — it has the ability to hold everybody accountable to it, and that includes the president of the United States.”
I hope they get the Immigration Policy sorted so that it benefits and protects all Americans and people legally allowed to be here. Good to see the Constitution at work.

Defense officials canceled a briefing they had called to discuss the value of the information recovered from Yemen and took the video off the website of the U.S. Central Command. They circulated clips from a video that showed how to prepare explosives without knowing it had already been public.
In the interest of fairness here’s a piece in The Atlantic arguing that Trump shouldn’t be blamed for Yemen.
This raid, according to The New York Times, was approved by and recommended to the president by his secretary of defense and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. For the recommendation to have gone forward to the president, the senior leadership of the Department of Defense would have signed off on this operation. And for that to have happened, special operations and regional U.S. commanders would have had to have blessed the planning that went into the operation itself.
The left cannot on the one hand claim Donald Trump is ignorant of military and security affairs, and then on the other hand expect him to second-guess the professional recommendations of his uniformed and civilian military leadership.
Then again, he also goes on to defend Hillary for Benghazi, so maybe no one will agree with this article.

I say this will all due respect, no argument intended. I argued this exact point a few pages back and it didn’t fly with anyone. As for Hillary Clinton and Benghazi, I cannot say with 100% certainty, but with my military experience I can say that she did not head the Department of State well enough to save Christopher Stevens and the others who died at Benghazi. I believe if she was more on top of things, she could have.
