@Post Praetorian,

It’s an extremely difficult time for me, however, I feel like it would sound silly to all of you and it’s why I didn’t actually mention it. It’s hard to talk about because it as you know, when you talk about something difficult, that forces you to actively think about it. It’s something I can barely handle as it is, so thinking about it just makes it too real. Being a person with a psychology background, I know that the worst thing you can do is avoid the hard feelings, but, right now, I can only handle it at certain times. This, that I’m dealing with, has essentially happened to me before, almost two years ago actually. I guess it’s harder this time because I was convinced it would never happen again or maybe I just convinced myself. Who knows? All I know is that I need to keep myself busy, so I don’t think about it.

Thank you though, for taking the time to actually ask. That’s very nice of you.

Perfectly acceptable…I understand your current restraint…may you be healed swiftly and without undue delay…

Gaming, I’ve always been a PC gamer and just before this thing happened, I threw myself into Tom Clancy’s The Division. Great game, I actually would love to find some other people to play, it’s just a matter of me making the effort to play again. Like I said, I love gaming, it’s just a bit difficult right now because everything is reopened and associations were made, triggers, basically. Now I know I sound like a neurotic crazy lady. -_-
I also have Black Desert Online, which I can’t bring myself to play.
I WAS waiting for Dark Souls 3, I kind of still want to play it when it comes out, but it’ll just be too hard, too many memories attached to that series to play it right now.

I have been a very avid fan of Homeworld 2 lately…I tend to become absorbed with one game at a time, almost to obsession…I am a database programmer by habit, so naturally I have been tinkering with the game. I have now modified it to such an extent that it is likely largely too complicated to play…just the way I prefer a game to be…!

I’ve seen episodes of Mystery Science Theatre when ScyFy was still SciFi and airing them occasionally on Saturday mornings. Although, I’vbe always preferred stuff like The Twilight Zone and Stargate when it comes to science fiction. I’ve tried Doctor Who, I know there’s a huge fan base, and I watched a lot of the newer series, it just didn’t do much for me.

I also must admit to having the entire Twilight Zone…Stargate has unfortunately passed me by, however. The best of the MST3K is the movie itself. The other titles in the series appear to lack the perfect polish of this more exemplary title.

I restrict myself to the Tom Baker Dr. Who series (which I also surprisingly possess)…for me it will always be the definitive version…

I find that watching horror helps when I’m feeling the way I am and when I mean horror, I mean horror. I get it in my mind that no matter how bad I’m feeling, well, atleast I’m not in that situation. Its a numbing thing I think. I’m talking The Shining, Pet Sematary, Misery, The Lost Boys — Although The Lost Boys isn’t really “horror” neither along with Misery. Those films have a certain distraction for me still, I don’t know why.

Lost Boys is one I could endure from your list, but the others…? In spite of having viewed most of them I find the genre of horror and thriller to be somewhat too striking for my more sedate tastes…I enjoy the happy-ever-after approach to film production… 😉

I’ve always had a thing for muscle cars, not sure why. My knowledge of the mechanics doesn’t go too far, so I couldn’t tell you much about that. The look of them does it for me, I don’t like the newer looking “sports” cars.

This is interesting to me inasmuch as it is a topic with which I am entirely estranged…I equally have no mechanical abilities whatsoever…I believe I am able to attest to the general location of the motor… 😉

Killer Queen is a song by Queen, check it out. It’s one of my favorites and boy do I have some favorites.
Steve Miller Band
Queen
Boston
The Eagles
Lynyrd Skynyrd

I share your enthusiasm for the Steve Miller Band, Queen, and Lynyrd Skynyrd…I would add Pink Floyd, Redbone, and CCR…and dare I slip in Billy Joel? At times I am at a loss as to where to draw the line in terms of where classic might end and more contemporary noises begin…

Just to name a few, I normally listen to classic rock on the way to school (I’m graduating this May. Trying to be excited about it, but I guess it’s the furtherest thing in my mind right now. It’s a huge accomplishment, it still doesn’t change the fact that I feel like shit… Heh) and they play a lot of different bands, all classic rock, absolutely nothing else and it’s why I love the station so much.

From what are you graduating? High School…? I apologize if you have stated it previously…my memory is not as it should be…wait: you have indicated a psychology background so am I correct in assuming you are graduating from University? If so may I offer sincere congratulations for nearing such a worthy goal?

Ha, Axel Rose, that’s very unfortunate, I must admit I don’t really care for Guns N Roses. His voice… Not so much for me. I don’t know why. The same with Rush… Please don’t stone me, I just really don’t like Rush. While I can appreciate the musical aspect, his voice kills it for me.

You have my permission to dismiss Rush…but Guns N Roses seems a more extreme position… 😉

As for what I look like, a more accurate image of me would be a short geeky chick. No bandanas, I assure you. Just a regular gal.

Well now your bandana has simply moved to your back pocket…along with your wrench (I realize you make claim to little or no mechanical ability, but the whole imagery of all things muscle car conjures a given subset I cannot apparently readily dispel)…

I guess that’s all for now.

@Everyone else, thanks again for the warm welcome. Again, I didn’t really think I’d get many replies.

That’s a bit of an apples and bandannas comparison.

I confess to having missed that in the first read…and now I confess to wishing to have continued to have missed it…! 😉

True.

Army of Darkness: The Medieval Deadit | The Terminator - Color Regrade | The Wrong Trousers - Audio Preservation
SONIC RACES THROUGH THE GREEN FIELDS.
THE SUN RACES THROUGH A BLUE SKY FILLED WITH WHITE CLOUDS.
THE WAYS OF HIS HEART ARE MUCH LIKE THE SUN. SONIC RUNS AND RESTS; THE SUN RISES AND SETS.
DON’T GIVE UP ON THE SUN. DON’T MAKE THE SUN LAUGH AT YOU.
