At this point I am going to light a candle for the O-OT, because perhaps until the day GL passes, and his kids/heirs decide to restore the original films and release them to put their families through college and the like, we will never see these movies as we should. I know they say "never believe them when they say never", but Lucasfilm's actions seem to suggest this is the case.

It's over. When Lucas dies, you know he is going to talk them with him.

The films, or his heirs? Or both?

I never DISTRUSTED you, I just thought you jumped the gun, Neil. Not like it's not understandable

Besides, I always said "Wait until we know for sure and then unleash the dogs."

You saw me gnashing my teeth right out front calling the dogs to follow, so you know the deal. I just wanted more than you saying "I'm guessing."

Thanks Neil for the anamorphic guide the internet is sorely lacking in those. Darth First's stuff should be pulled until if or when he gets the DVDs early. There is some other dude at MF called HB who is posting stuff to keep a watch out on.

Of course Hale and Singh's statements should take precident over any other FAQ changes.

That's silly. The first part of the article is being blocked by the nice pictures.

There is no lingerie in space…

C3PX said: Gaffer is like that hot girl in high school that you think you have a chance with even though she is way out of your league because she is sweet and not a stuck up bitch who pretends you don’t exist… then one day you spot her making out with some skinny twerp, only on second glance you realize it is the goth girl who always sits in the back of class; at that moment it dawns on you why she is never seen hanging off the arm of any of the jocks… and you realize, damn, she really is unobtainable after all. Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Here is another article on the subject. A little outdated and very simplistic, however it makes good use of Flash animations to demonstrate the advantage of anamorphic widescreen.

The first sentence lost me when it said "1940"'s. WRONG!

And then it goes onto say 16:9 is 1.85:1. Buy these guys a calculator and a history of cinema.
