It's pretty similar. Obvioulsy the anime has an advantage that it is in motion, and therefore the action works better. DBZ is much more visually driven than Dragon Ball.

And none of the fights end the same. In fact, Goku kills absolutely nobody until Chibi Majin Buu.

Maybe I should look at DBZ more closely.

It is not good to over-analyze cartoons.

But if you just look away because a line of stupid dialogue, then you might miss something worthwhile.

Well, its really not good to over-analyze any form of entertainment.

While if I said it now, it would be sarchastic, I actually meant it at the time.

The results of the mock election briefly deluded me into thinking my generation was making a comeback.

Well, at least we didn't grow up in the 80s and wear neon striped spandex, leg warmers, chucks, or have bad hair.(No Offense to those who grew up in the 80s of course).

But we made tomagotchi, furbies, and Anime popular: and now we're subjected to Yu-gi-Oh advertisments every two comericals because WE let the studios know that Japanime was popular.

Plus we've made people like Marshall Mather, $0.50, Nelly, Chingy, and Snoop Dawgg rich and famous. And don't get me started on Boy Bands *shudders*

Yeah, thats worse than spandex.

Sorry guys that grew up in the 80s, I'd take large hair over Yu-Gi-Oh any day.

Thankfully my brother got out of it.

He was in pretty deep for a while, but girls and paintball saved him.

I grew up in the late 80s early 90s and I don't remember anyone even slightly similar to that stereothype. But oh well.

BTW late 80s early 90s was the best time ever... It was great to be a kid back then. Now kids are spoiled little brats who think they are freaking computer genius even though the only thing they know is how to play counter strike, who think true anime is made by pokemon and its clones and the "i want your gaijin money" works from akira toryiama and massami kurumada, kids who are exposed to sex too early (yes too early), kids who don't play in the streets anymore, kids who just want to be cool and popular, kids who listen to britney spears and n'sync and think that's music... Well I belive MINE generation rocks... The only generation that could have an even better childhhod/teenage years would be those who grew up in the late 60s, to late 70s...

It seems so weird: My Generation is so much more friggin' liberal when it comes to behaviours, and yet they tend to be politically conservative.

But Rics generation that came of age in the mid ninteies was behvaourily much more conservative, and yet they consistently picked Clinton in mock elections. Weirdness.

For the record, the Generation to which I refer as mine cuts of in Jan 1 1988. Anyone born after that is my bro's.

Probably the media's to blame. How can I put this... well, you wouldn't be a conservative if you were raised your entire life without ever watching television. And before you counter-argument, please do think a little bit about it.

Counter argument?

I didn't know there was an argument going on here period. I was just making a compliment to your point about how extreme people my age and younger have gotten.

Ah no no, by counter-argument I meant "reply", but in the meaning that you would express a different point of view. I mean "argument" not by the "aguing" meaning thing. Sorry, damn language barrier.

But you're speaking English, right?

There's no translator that works that well...

Uh well I'm trying... But to answer your question, no, I'm not using a translator.

Nah, I don't need it. Me thinks me kan speek engrish very good.

I do make some mistakes sometimes because some words in both english and portuguese have some similar meanings, yet can change meanings depending on the sentence - such as "argument" (which in portuguese has the same meaning as it does in enligh, but it also mean something like "topic").

Argument can mean that in English as well depending on the circles you inhabit. It takes on a meaning near to that in legal circles. Not exactly the same meaning, but far different than what it's most usually known for.

Really?
Maybe it's just where I come from, but I'v never heard argument used that way. It allways means either a verbal fight, or a stance/position on an issue, but never the issue itself.

I've heard a couple of lawyers I know use it before. Maybe it's not that common. The instances in which I have heard it are rare.
