MJPEG to avi - Original Trilogy

I realize that avi is just a container but...

I took some video with my digital camera and want to reduce the size since its fairly huge for such a short clip, but I cant seem to do anything with it (as far as reencoding it) with virtualdub. The file has an avi extension but when i load it into gspot it tells me its codec is mjpeg. I want to convert this into an xvid or some other codec so that i can reduce the file size.

Load MJPEG AVI into VirtualDub.

Select Video->compression, XviD. Set options as required.

Save as XviD AVI.
