I had scans of the cover and looked for them recently but they didn't turn up.

Sooner or later I will do it again and post them.

in the end, it isn't too much about what we can hear rather than what it is whether we hear it or not. MP3 IS compressed, and vinyl sound or other analog recordings are NOT compressed, they emulate true sound. Though I know I can't tell the difference, it is just technically so.

Actually, in my Spanish class, we used to play a lot of Spanish songs, by Latin pop artists. They were all on these burned CDs, and most of them were God awful mp3s and I could hear all sorts of artifacts while listening to them (I actually pointed it out one day and realized I was the only one who cared). I don't know how old the CDs were, and therefore how old the codec was, but still.

Are .ac3 files 16 bit? Doesn't that mean it's just CD quality audio?

The best thing about these is the opening of "Battle in the Snow;" it begins with a CLEAN sound effect of an ATAT walking!


Is there any possible way to at least get just this sound effect uncompressed?

i'd never heard the Meco ESB recordings til i DL'ed these a few weeks ago (heck, i'd never even heard of them, just the first ones from Star Wars). Anyway, i was in Toys R Us yesterday & guess what was playing over the speakers in the boys' toys section? The Meco ESB songs!! I thought that was pretty cool.

I do. But ac3 is a much more efficient compression method than mp3. And I was into laserdisc before DVD...and prefer Blu-Ray/HD DVD now. So nice try.

The only reason i mention it first is because all of their releases are lossless. Trust me, I still MUCH prefer HD DVD.

Maybe I should have thrown in one or two of these little guys just to let you know I wasn't trying to be a jerk.

I can't wait till BluRay or HD-DVD are cheap enough for trash like me to afford.

(those are interesting MP3's by the way, they made me want to dance the night away)

You could get an HD DVD player for $199 a few weeks ago.

I think mp3 of non-orchestral songs are usually ok...

Like these sound good ... Are you sure they are at the right pitch? I've had people rip stuff before from LP's and they've been close but not quite right lol...

Lapti Nek for example...

mojo...what turntable did you use for this? The high end doesn't sound as tinny as it does on mine. It's much clearer.

Can raw WAV files be made of the actual album? Rikter doesn't have these and I don't use compression of any sort and an actual high quality rip to WAV would be superior to any of the compressed formats.

I want to put together a meco album that has ALL star wars, empire and jedi tracks that were released, including edits. I'm working on it now.
