Fine: George helped get Kagemusha and Mishima made.

Doug Chiang left and did not design episode II and III.
Ryan Church did.
I am really worried about John Carter since he is the designer, if those Hollywood morons did not wait so long they could have had Frazetta, who is now deceased.

The John Carter film is going to be terrible. Like Conan, it is something that needs an uncompromising vision or it does not work.

They could have done King Conan with Milius but the studio would not back it.
And honestly with Arnold's age, they would have to have played that up in the movie or recast, or do what they have done reboot.
I would like a version faithful to REH manuscripts, not the butchered edited version by L. Sprague de Camp.
I think John Carter should be animated.

I would have liked to see an older Schwarzenegger portraying an older Conan. I think that would have been interesting.
An animated Conan would be the way to go (think Ninja Scroll). Forget a movie though, I want adaptions faithful to the actual stories.

Sir Alec Guinness had a lot of admiration for him.

There was an animated Red Nails movie a few years back, I think. I never saw it. I did see the Conan: The Adventurer cartoon series every morning when I was a kid. :p

Was this show any good, I see it at walmart all the time and my Little Boy seems interested, is it worth a buy?
I think Lucas has some great ideas out there, than when handled by the correct people and with proper restraint, result in great films.

I doubt I could answer that, my memories are pretty vague, it was mildly enjoyable but sort of forgettable. It wasn't anything like the comics or stories or the movies though, closer to He-Man maybe. Who knows though, kids like unexpected things.

Thanks, he does like the old He-Man cartoon and Thundercats, and he is very interested in watching Thundarr The Barbarian LOL, so maybe I will just pick it up.
George allowed us the Laserdisc master of the Unaltered Trilogy. It's the best source so far to base our preservations off of.
The franchises I get nerdy about are so obscure that not even most nerds know about them.

If he likes Thundercats and He-Man he will likely enjoy the show then.

They could also have gotten Richard Corben, who did some great JC book covers in the 70's.
Where were you in '77?
I would flip out if they finally made Milius' KING CONAN. Arnold's current age is so perfect too. And it's one of the few roles he can play where his current problems (and the entire women audience hating him) wouldn't really matter. They need to find a cool director that "gets" Milius' style. That's going to be hard, all the current guys are such computer weenies.
King Conan would be SWEET! but he is going to be busy with Bruce and Sly & Crew doing The Expendables 2, there is even talk that Chuck Norris and Van Dumb is joining the cast.
Aside from his laughter, he has a really cool, charismatic personality and "smart looks". Whenever talking about Star Wars, even now, he sounds down-to-earth, modest and self-deprecating.
Also gladly admits that he's the "king of wooden dialogue" in public speeches.
I'm not entirely sure which ideas and designs in the prequels were more his and which more by the hired artists, but there are some awfully cool concepts in the prequels, be it some wacky aliens and robots, or the action sequences including the sounds, editing and settings.
If that's what he'd had in his head before production, and got in some form onto the screen - mad propz to him.
Didn't amount to good movies, obviously, but they're movies with "cool stuff" in them.
When he has the right team behind him the man is a genius.
A Goon in a Gaggle of 'em
It's weird, look at the Art of Attack of the Clones book. Or even look at that first teaser trailer that had no dialogue. I want to see THAT MOVIE, whatever it is! looks like it could really be...something. What, I don't know. Something just gets fumbled right around the 20 yard line.

Actually, he did design Episode II.
Let's all say something nice about George
Is this?
It's a TRAP!
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
I can't. Not anymore.
He looks GREAT in shorts.
I love how on topic this has remained.
In all honesty, as much as his reluctance to release the original versions irks me, this guy was responsible for Star Wars and Indiana Jones. He kind of shaped my childhood. I find it really difficult to hate him because of that.
Yes, he had a lot to do with Crystal Skull and the way Star Wars is now, but I really just can't hate him. Look at all the books, soundtracks, games, TV shows and awesomeness he's given me. Some of my favorite experiences with my Dad involved a movie George Lucas was involved in. My fondest memories of my friends are from going to see the prequels, or attending Star Wars Celebration, or playing the Star Wars RPG.
Honestly, George Lucas is one of my favorite people ever.
And King Conan would be freakin' sick.
His hair is bitchin'.
That is all I can say.
