Roseanne is a great show. A show about a midwestern, dysfunctional white trash family that was pro-gay but at the same time paralleled my real family in a lot of ways was except more close-nit spoke to me then and still does now. It’s also the only family sitcom that even bothered trying to resemble what the average American family was like.

I must have been lucky. I grew up in basically a tv family, more akin to home improvement except I was an only child and my dad wasn’t so eccentric. But the “perfect TV family” part was pretty spot on to my life growing up. It wasn’t until I developed a horrible drug problem that lasted from age 17-20 that it started to unravel for everybody…

Having never seen the original show, the one episode I saw of the revival seems like it’s from the Mirror universe based on your description of the show.

The new show is in favor of transgender expression in youth and still pretty much all the other social issues the original Roseanne covered. I haven’t seen all of it yet though.

Other than my parents not being married and me having a lot more siblings and not a constant home, Roseanne was the closest TV family to my upbringing and it was so fucking funny and so goddamn relatable. I think it’s time for me to rewatch it again!

I also love Seinfeld, although I’m a bit concerned for you if you actually relate to it.

I watched a few episodes of Seinfeld when I was young, but never really followed it. I plan on revisiting it eventually.

I meant if it’s not your favorite 90s sitcom you’re fucking crazy.

Also, I think most people can probably relate to Seinfeld more than they might care to admit.

Yeah I can see that, most people are dishonest lying self centered sacks of shit. Now you’ve made me sound like mfm, you jerk.

It is a great show though.

I find Seinfeld very relatable and it’s the funniest show ever, but Roseanne is still my favorite because of the reasons I said above.

What? You agree that I’m right on that so why be worried about sounding like me?

I know, but there was some attitude behind it.

Fuck y… Oh I forgot we aren’t allowed to say that anymore.

I don’t believe “most people” are actually like that though, but a fair amount.

Is this sarcasm? I’d say most people have those tendencies to some extent, not that everyone is completely like that.

Beyond that too not everything in Seinfeld was the characters being awful. There’s a a lot of relatable mundane stuff that you don’t often see in other shows of the era.

This is what I was thinking about.

Some of it is just about random mundane stuff yes. And it’s great. But a good deal of it is just the characters being horrible people. Not that I’m complaining it’s a great show.

Seinfeld, Frasier, Dinosaurs, Everbody Loves Raymond, Home Improvement. Probably in that order, greatest to least of the best, and I can’t think of anything else right now.

Army of Darkness: The Medieval Deadit | The Terminator - Color Regrade | The Wrong Trousers - Audio Preservation
SONIC RACES THROUGH THE GREEN FIELDS.
THE SUN RACES THROUGH A BLUE SKY FILLED WITH WHITE CLOUDS.
THE WAYS OF HIS HEART ARE MUCH LIKE THE SUN. SONIC RUNS AND RESTS; THE SUN RISES AND SETS.

Only one of those is great…or even good.

You need to drop anything else you’re currently doing and fix that now.
