I watched the first season of Dexter.

It’s a great show, but between it and Hannibal, I’m starting to get really unsettling dreams. I think I’m going to be giving these types of shows a break for a while to watch more comedy.

Arrow Seasons 1-2 (2013-14)

After having seen Daredevil, Jessica Jones and GOTHAM I developed a bit of a super hero television bug. Once those dried up I went through a bit of withdrawal and decided to finally take the plunge and start on the series I had been avoiding this whole time. Turns out I was kind of missing out, season 1 of the Arrow was pretty solid. Season 2 was also very impressive and convinced me that they could totally pull off a live action Batman series today. However, this is as far as my journey goes with the hooded vigilante as I’ve been told the show nosedives after season 2. So I’d rather remember the show as it was in these first two seasons.

The Flash Season 1 (2014)

A pretty good series. It’s a nice contrast to Arrow. The cast is all very likable and they get into some big adventures. The writing can be a bit problematic however. It’ll defy its own logic at times for plot convenience but the show is entertaining enough that you can overlook those moments.

Currently watching Star Trek TNG in glorious HD with enhanced SFX. I must confess I didn’t remember the first season to be that bad… when does it get good ? I hope it’s during season 2…

Season 3 is when it “grows the beard”. But IMO there’s just as many bad episodes in the last couple of seasons as there are in the first two.

That many bad episodes ? Not very “DS9 quality”… I’ll try to skip Troi-centric episodes at least.

I don’t find the first two seasons as bad as others do though. I’d say there’s half a dozen bad episodes in the first two seasons and probably about the same in seasons 6/7. Your mileage may vary.

I got to “Sub Rosa” last time on my TNG watch, and its definitely a callback to the first season quality. Holy crap.

That’s exactly how I felt too. I initially thought he was going to be one dimensional but was surprised as how developed he was for a side character. His relationship with Laguerta especially threw me off balance.

Just finished watching the first episode of Ash vs. Evil Dead season two, and liked it quite a bit. I wasn’t the biggest fan of season one, while it had it’s moments, I disliked the way Ash was turned into a parody of himself, how every character would be killed off in gory ways (which made it difficult to care for them), the bad CGI was annoying, and overall it didn’t really feel like The Evil Dead (apart from the awesome first episode). But this latest episode felt like it was ripped out of the original series. Ash’s shenanigans were toned down, and he acted more like himself in Army of Darkness, the CGI was kept to a minimum, and used effectively, and it was nice seeing Ash’s home town, something not touched on in the movies. Ash’s father Brock in particular was great to see. So I remain hopeful for the rest of the season, and eagerly await episode two.

I could have let it lie but I felt compelled to write how a bit rubbish American Horror Story is this year.

I found the first year of American Horror Story a bit rubbish, myself. I haven’t watched any years since.

Clerks: The Animated Series (2000-2001)

It’s not as good as the two Clerks movies, but it’s a pretty fun show, with a bunch of great moments. I wish it had more episodes.
