Rogue One. It was shit. Hang on I think I dreamt that.
Interstellar
This was very heavy material. My short takeaway is this:
-The Cinematography is gorgeous.
-The score is AWESOME!
-The special effects are very immersive.
-The acting is pretty strong.
-Interesting premise.
-chemistry between Murph and Cooper was outstanding.
-Brands “Love” speech was dumb
-the ending was a little uneven
Overall I think it was a really ambitious and thought provoking film. I think Arrival accomplished what Interstellar was going for even better though.

Krampus 2015
Director Michael Dougherty’s previous film, 2007’s Trick r Treat, is one of my absolute favorite films, so I’ve been looking forward to checking this one out. I was unable to catch it in theaters last year and have been saving it for the holiday season. Tonight was finally the night!
Well, I hated it. All of it. Some good bits of creepy atmosphere, but the characters reactions to everything that happens are either nonsensical or just stupid. Nobody reacts to anything in a way a real person would. The point the film tries to make is undone constantly and the film can’t follow it’s own logic.
When I sat down to watch this, I had no doubt that I would at least enjoy it. I’m beyond disappointed.
Jaws 4 (1987):
This just happened to be on TV while I was having dinner (Which brings up the question, why would the network air any Jaws sequel over the original?). So I thought “Eh, what the heck”, and decided to watch it. I have nothing new to say about it so I’ll just say that I hate it, but I love it. The network airing it also cut out most of the shots of victims inside the shark’s mouth for some reason, which defeats the purpose of airing it in the first place since that’s what people most likely want to see. In the end, the trims only made it more unintentionally hilarious.

Because the rights are waaaaay cheaper.

“Jaws? People love that right!” “No, wait it’s -” “We’ll take it”
I haven’t watched any of the sequels past Jaws 2. I’m somewhat tempted to due to the dire special effects and naff writing, but only somewhat.
That’s probably for the best Energiser, as they made my eyeballs bleed.
Can you ditch the Simpsons ting in your sig pls, as it is really iritates one member here.
*sigh* Bart’s blue shirt gets no love.

Pretty much agree with you on both Interstellar and Arrival. although a subsequent viewing or Arrival on bluray will be required for me to decide if Arrival nailed it better than Interstellar did.

I immensely respect Nolan’s ambition though. It’s refreshing to see his films because of his passion and ambition to make great work.
Arrival really got me quite choked up though. It’s execution was bulletproof and its effect was tear jerking. Interstellar does this for me also, just with messier execution and not nearly as effective.
Inferno (2016)
What an abhorrent mess of a movie. I haven’t seen The Da Vinci Code or Angels and Demons, but if they’re as bland, uninspired, and boring as this film, I’m clearly not missing out on very much. Despite Tom Hanks and Irrfhan Khan putting in rather good performances, everyone else was as wooden as a plank. I’m almost worried for Rogue One now, considering that Felicity Jones was excruciatingly bland throughout this film, although it’s not like she was given anything to work with.
SPOILERS (not that you should see this film)
Also, the reveal of her character’s true motivations came completely out of left field and didn’t add anything to the film at all. Her demise was anticlimactic for what had been built up as an important character.
The editing is nearly as horrible as the editing in Suicide Squad (believe it or not), and the quick cuts and shaky camerawork made any potentially exciting action scene dizzying and forgettable. The cinematography was nice in places, so that’s something I guess. The score for the film was nice enough to listen too, but I can’t remember any track in particular. I’m not sure why I wanted to watch this movie, but I’m quite certain that I will never watch it again.
3/10
Not enough people read the EU.
The Da Vinci Code certainly was bland, uninspired, and boring. Add overlong to the list, too.
Looks awesome. Since Harrison Ford is old, is that confirmation that he isn’t a replicant?

I never understood the whole Deckard-is-a-replicant-nonsense. Does it make the story/movie better if he is a replicant?
Rogue One is redundant. Just play the first mission of DARK FORCES.

He could still technically be a replicant if he was custom-made without the premature incept date. For what it’s worth, I much prefer him being human, so I’m totally fine with this.
When I first watched Blade Runner, I went in knowing I was supposed to wonder if he was a replicant or not. Turns out that I didn’t care either way. 😕

Quite the opposite.

There’s a Rogue One Spoilers thread in General SW Discussion, you should probably post your review over there and delete this.
I sure hope he complains about the gay couple.
