^Yep. Love the comic, but scared to see how Snyder ruined it beyond what I’ve already read online (Nite Owl II is young, confident, and possibly sadistic; ending is wrong; etc.)

Seems like most who read the comic before seeing the film dislike the movie.

I've never read the comic and I was impressed by the way Snyder was able to introduce and present so much in such a short period. It was a great alternate timeline. I liked the movie.

Well, I think that’s out of line.

Not enough people read the EU.

Don’t put more than 3 spaces infront of your first sentence. You should have noticed that they get deleted anyways, but if you put 4 of them at the start, you create a complete mess.

Don’t put any spaces in front of your first sentence. You’re not an alien*.

He’s a pedophile*. Don’t bother with him

*I could be wrong about that.

How do you know that?

EDIT: Or what makes you think that, would be better phrasing.

I WORK FOR TVS FRINK AS PART OF A TEAM WHO LOOKS INTO THESE KINDS OF THINGS. WE’RE A FANTASTIC TEAM. WE DO OUR JOBS VERY WELL, YOU CAN TRUST ME ON THAT. WE’RE THE BEST AT LOOKING INTO THESE KINDS OF THINGS. NO ONE IS BETTER THAN WE ARE AT THIS.

Also, see his original review of Zootopia… It’s super creepy.
And he uses the formatting of a serial killer. he probably is, what with all the hate and such that he spews in every post he makes.

So… Yep. Serial killing pedophile. No doubt*.

*I could be wrong about this.

99.72% chance you are right about this.

^ Well, all of that sounds like a very strange movie. Probably one of those arthouse sorts?

The last one I watched was a bit more commercial…

Poltergeist II - The Other Side (1986)

Yes I’ve watched another horror movie and yes I’m aware I might have a problem but I like them and, frankly, it’s none of your business so let’s move on shall we? The movie gets back nearly all the original cast (Dominique Dunne, the actress who played the eldest daughter sadly passed away, to put it mildly, before the sequel was greenlit). The story tries to retcon certain things in a way that makes it seem like it’s an expansion of events but if you think about them, they just don’t make sense. But it’s a fun(ish) story and the creepy old dude in the hat is still as scary to me now as he was when I was ten! There’s a couple of nice touches and funny lines but there’s not much here the original (a bona-fide classic in my book) didn’t do better. Ultimately, it just doesn’t have any real charm to it. Easily missable.

I give it 2 non-politically correct wrathful Indian spirits out of 5.

Hey, you’re in good company here. I consider myself a horror aficionado. Been studying the genre for about 20 years.
(I watched horror before that, but was too young to really delve into studying the genre)

Good on ya, Ray! Nice to know there’s somebody else here who appreciates a good scary movie 😃

I recall that scene on the bluff where Craig T. Nelson and his Indian pal inahaling some substances got huge unintentional laughs when I saw it.

I have a friend who could totally rock a Reverend Kane costume for Halloween. He looks a lot like the actor but much more healthy, thankfully. I don’t know how to suggest it to them and not cause offense. 😉

PII is still way better than Poltergeist III though.

Poltergeist III is on my Netflix watch list. I vaguely remember Tom Skerritt and a skyscraper (?!) but my one abiding memory of it is that it was awful. I’ll save it for a rainy day when I have no other options!

Poltergeist III makes Poltergeist II look like TESB, and I hate Poltergeist II.

So all television shows are movies? All cartoons are movies? All commercials are movies?

A seven minute cartoon movie exists the same way a good anime does…not at all.

Short films are still films.

And FYI, most of those Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies shorts were first aired in theatres, not television.

Yes, technically, in the same way that you could say that a hot dog is a sandwich.

They were, but I believe most (if not all) of them were aired as shorts before the feature film.
