YES!! That’s a Space-Rock must-have!
(my original comment was made with their next album in mind…)
I like that cover and title, Frink.
I don’t know anything else about it and I don’t wanna until I listen for myself*.
I can’t today, but I will listen by Friday and post thoughts.
*Can ya tell me if you like it or not? It just occurred to me that maybe it’s not an album you already like…
Just a “like it” or “don’t like it”, please.
I’ll still listen either way.
like it
Damn. Well, I said I would, so I’ll still give it a listen. 😉
Dammit, I fell right into that trap.
They misspelled “Furry”.
LOVE – THE CULT

ALBUM COVER RATING: 7/10

Like.
Marvin Gaye binge:
What’s Going On is my favorite.

The Very Beast of Dio - DIO (Compilation Album)
Ronnie James Dio is another guy who’s been snubbed too many times by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I’ve known the people in charge of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame were full of shit for a while, but it’s strange that he wasn’t even honored as a member of Black Sabbath.

CASSETTES WON’T LISTEN - SMALL TIME MACHINE
Had no idea what this was. You can see on the previous page that the album art, name and title (I didn’t even know which was which before looking it up) got my attention and I decided to give it a listen. I really need something unfamiliar in the air and this fit the bill.
And now I’m posting thoughts no one asked for.
It right away made me think of bands with a sound I hate. Postal Service comes to mind and I hated them. But, I don’t hate this. The first track, Metronomes, is neat and the second track, Large Radio, is great. The third track, Paper Float had me ichin’ for the skip button, but I kept it going off the strength of the first two tracks. Freeze And Explode is the next one and while better than the last one, it didn’t do much for me and the rest kind blurred together with the song Two Kids standing out as if it’s trying to bring the entire thing down with it.
In the end, it’s not bad, it’s just not my thing. But it was a nice break from all things familiar.
OH, and the thing was only like 20 minuets long. More of an EP than an LP I guess. So, if yer interested, check it out. Even if you end up hating it, it’s not long enough to ruin your day or anything.
A Marvin Gaye day is a day full of winning! I’ve never listened to Here, My Dear, but that cover makes me laugh!
And Duracells rating of Love by the Cult is very correct!

I think Freeze and Explode is the best song on the album. You might like it better after watching the video.

CWL is a weird band (one guy, actually) where they’ve (he’s) put out albums with instrumentals only, albums with lyrics, and albums with a mix. They (he) have (has) an album called “EVINSPACEY” because Kevin Spacey sued over the original title. STM is my favorite. I beefed up the runtime to 45 minutes by adding in an EP from the same time-frame.
And screw you, Postal Service is great. So is Death Cab, for that matter.
A second post got posted that was a duplicate of the first post I posted.
I’m interested in hearing his instrumental stuff. These kinds of vocals are off-putting to me. Not knocking his voice or the style, but it’s just not my thing.
People kept pushing Postal Service on me 'cause my favorite band is The Smiths, so they insisted that Brand New and Postal Service would be a natural favorite. I just don’t see any connection at all.
I like both The Smiths and Postal Service but I don’t see a connection at all.
Do you like Death Cab? That’s an obvious connection although Postal is more synth-based.
I’ve never sat down with a Death Cab album, but I’ve heard enough to know they aren’t for me.
