Thank you, zion. It's reassuring to know that I'm not really that terrible at communication, considering you understood me perfectly well and I wasn't even addressing you.

All expletives notwithstanding.

forgive me for talking like a normal, frustrated person. I apologize if cusswords offend you. I'll keep that in mind for future reference.

But it still looks like you're simply looking for any reason to nitpick the hell out of my posts, regardless of their content. If it's not a misunderstanding, it's my username. if it's not my username, it's the language I'm using.

I'm sorry you don't like me. I dont' know what else I can do about it.

"I apologize if cusswords offend you."

OMG! And you accuse me of deliberately misreading posts?!? ROTF! I've guess you've not seen me cuss in mine.

Too funny.....

No, I haven't seen you cuss in your other posts. Which is why I figured you mentioning it must have something to do with some discomfort with my using it. Which is why I said "IF cusswords offend you" because I didn't know for sure. Now I know better. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

there I go again..it's like a one-way street here. I misunderstand you, and I apologize for it. you misunderstand me, and *I* apologize for it. You read my words with a different intent than what I wrote them with--and you don't apologize, soften your stance after explanation, or do anything but find a different nitpick and then throw a sarcastic smiley after it at best. And then you wonder why, in frustration, I use expletives, and then you crap on me for it.

Wow... I gotta admit, MeBeJedi, that after reading back over this thread, you really have been a bit of an antagonistic prick. The Biz's points were perfectly valid and in no way did they seem insulting. Hell, I was what... that second person to respond to the post? And I didn't feel like he was particularly aiming anything at me, just that he was giving some balanced perspective on the issue.

I'm really not sure why you felt the need to pointlessly attack him, and I'm also not sure why you are incapable of apologizing to him as he was more than willing to do for you... but I do have my theories. Theories which I'll hold back on because, quite frankly, it would only lead to a meaningless pissing match.

At any rate... it would be just peachy if everyone could stop being babies for a few weeks. The boards seem to have calmed down a bit of late, even going so far as having civilized and calm political debates going on in the Off Topic forum (!), so why the hell can't we be decent to each other on an issue as meaningless as this?
For as much as some people claim to hate what Star Wars has become, they sure seem incapable of shutting up about it.

Nothing against you Rebel Rouser, I can see you are just trying to keep the peace. I think the point that MeBeJedi was trying to make was that they had already come to a close in that argument.
Regardless of how it started, im glad that it only took you guys about 8 posts to get it out of your systems (and im not pointing fingers or calling names or anything!).

We are all opinionated. And right now the OT is a sore subject so people get pretty worked up.

I read this statement a while ago and what really irks me about it is their reliance on meaningless sales figures to justify the changes. So what if they made over $100,000,000 on the first day? That's hardly a record breaking volume of units when you consider that this was a four disc boxed set that retails at a higher price than most one or two disc releases. Add to this the fact that they never advertised the re-working of the films, ensuring that the majority of people buying the set would have no idea that they were getting another version of the movies. As much as most of us would like to think otherwise, the overwhelming majority of people just simply don't use the Internet to research or purchase their consumer goods.

It's sad that all they see to focus on is how much money it generated, not how well received it was by the fans. It's a good job they didn't, as I for one found this to be the biggest DVD disappointment of the year. If it had been any other release it would have been slated because of the technical faults, but because it's Star Wars people let it off the hook. Too many reviewers looking at the films through rose-tinted specs.

Agreed. Its as if the anticipation for Star Wars on DVD outweighed the desire for a quality release. Bummer for all.
