are there any other forums that discuss LD to dvd conversion regardig other movies than Star Wars?

Not that I am aware of. There is also this forum regarding converting SW to DVD. If you are simply looking for technical information about transferring any LD to DVD, then the threads here and at Videohelp are still a vaiuable source of information regarding tools and techniques. When I was first getting into this, I was asking many general purpose questions that could have applied to any film. There are certainly enough people working on this one project to give you a wide variety of input for any other project. Hell, even ADigitalMan has brought up some rather off-topic information on his other LD projects. (Not trying to bust your butt, ADM. )

Don't forget the forums at Doom9 are a good source of information, in particular Capturing Video and Avisynth Usage, you will also find inforamtion about MPEG-2 encoding and DVD authoring there. But I don't think anyone would object if you asked general questions in here, we're quite friendly, really.
